I’ll have to try out Evil Ryu. Hop kick, massive damage, non-ex red fireballs, kara throw (from ken obv). It’s everything I love about Akuma, but instead of a vortex you get Ryu’s U1 utility and better zoning (the red fireball looks fast as hell).

Fixing matchmaking would be worth $40. I’d even pay twice that to never see a ‘could not connect’ message ever again.

OoPo, I’d easily pay 40$ to never see that, it’s that one message that drives me absolutely insane, then again, Capcom can’t exactly control the quality of everyone’s internet. I have faith in Capcom with those two characters though, they’ve been making and balancing characters for SF for well over 20 years, they’re not scrubs at this game.

Neither will be replacements. Akuma will still has his knockdown game and Ryu still has higher dmg output and stamina.
Edit: Netplay isn’t the main issue. There are still tons of things wrong with the current mechanics.

Also, I personally love seeing how Capcom spent all this time and money making one of the most balanced fighters ever to just throw out all their work by adding the SF3 twins and E. Ryu and Oni. Good shit. The twins would be more forgivable if we got some other SF3 characters or Alpha characters instead of E. Ryu and Oni. Those two make all those God/Holy/Violent versions of Ryu/Ken/Akuma/other DPer in MUGEN look sane.
By the way, installed homebrew emulators on my PS3. Third Strike runs beautifully and works with fight sticks. Feels weird playing it with a TE though.
I like being able to pick a green connection rather than wait for one to eventually join, but point taken.

Do they know exactly how they are going to release the AE addition? I honestly can’t see them charging us 40 dollars for it, by any means. We’re not getting as much new stuff, as there is only 4 new characters, and there was rebalances out with Super, as well. I could see them maybe allowing rebalances to be free DLC, and having us pay for the new characters. It’d still be a pretty penny, sure, but I could see that being the option to piss off the least amount of people.
Who knows, though. I suppose we shall see!

Oni and Evil Ryu don’t really look all that interesting as far as I’m concerned. To me their just the opposites of their original characters and just the typical shoto’s we’ve seen countless times. There are a lot of other characters that would add more to the game than those two. Though frankly I don’t even care that much. I don’t think I’ll ever switch away from Fuerte, honestly. To me those two are just another bunch that will taste my guacs and experience splash mountain. :3
I don’t think any of the four AE characters break the game either. Especially not Mugen broken by any means. While I can definitely see them being viable for tourney play, I don’t think they’re going to be dominating Balrog, Ryu, Bison, Hond, Chun, etc at any point in time. Of course, being a Yun{in 3S} player myself I can’t say anything against his addition in AE. He and Yang add more to the game than Oni/Evil Ryu IMO.
I also heard that there are codes for two other characters, but I’ll take that with a grain of salt for now.
Kinda butthurt I missed 3S yesterday, but there are things that take higher priority over that. Hopefully I can come next time we have 3S so I can show you my shitty Yun. BTW, what systems were you guys using for the game anyway?
