I have never played DS, so I don’t know how it is. I like double dash cause its the fairest of them all.
You can even dodge blue shells, but it takes a setup. Shortcuts in there never give over a lap of advantage, and most of them can be blocked.
Double Dash is the KOF of Mario Kart, real and honest.

lol thx for the opinions; I cannot compare 64 with double dash since i never played double dash. I can only tell you that 64 can be very competitive if you know how to power slide. I think that 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place still have its own advantages(I’m talking about 4 player grand prix 150% cc mode) depending on the situation. The “?” boxes is based off percentages, so, the percentage of getting a star or lighting power is higher if you place lower during the race. You would think, “this game is all about prizes that’s how you win”, in most cases yes but if you can’t power slide for crap, then no lol. One time, I was 1st place at koopa troopa beach during the 3rd lap as peach. The other players were getting back to back lightnings and thunders(it was just freaking ridiculous), while my only advantage was a lucky ghost prize and the shortcut cave ramp(forgot to mention all of them were about half a lap behind me). Anyways the outcome was close and I still won. What really saved me in that situation was the power sliding(I did not get any speed mushrooms at all) and the ramp cave shortcut(THE LEGAL SHORTCUT). Also, I would agree that Toad is OP in this game but I honestly think that Bowser is the best… Bowser has the highest TOP speed and if you’re a vicious power slider, you might wanna try this rig. I really dislike toad just because of hearing my friends saying, “he’s the best” over and over and I always see a toad player in every game. Toad is not the fastest racer though, its Bowser. Toad picks up and gains acceleration speed the fastest from a recovery(a complete stop). Bowser is for more advanced players(power sliders) and because of his weight, he is more easier to maneuver(no worries about spinning out). I also think the 2 on 2 money matches will make things more fair, 150%cc grand prix 1st to 4 in CUPS(not tracks) and this would be for serious money matches only. For friendly/small money matches would be 1st to 4 in tracks(not CUPS). Adding the overall points of you and your partner in tracks/CUPS to determine the winner. Please post on this thread, let me know if you’re going to be at EVO and you’re up for this event. In two weeks, depending on the responses and serious people i get, I may or may not bring this alive. Mario kart 64 players practice up and prepare for the worst, I wanna try to make this happen.

I remember hating Double Dash when I played it. I’m watching vids of it and I can’t remember why I did. Might have just been Daisy.
Rainbow Road in that game though was fuckin’ boss. I was probably wanting the other courses to be as “don’t fuck up if you know what’s good for you” as that was. Only course I can remember that made me focus with that barrier-less strip with the zip pads. That was some F-Zero shit.
I wanted to say DD was too easy cause I had it damn near 100% completed in a couple days. But I was playing original Mario Kart earlier and that shit is easy too, 150cc Special Cup Donut Course aside.
I’ll still whip your ass in original MK battle mode. Course 4. I once had a friend shoot a red shell at me and I spent about 10 minutes running the outside of the course while it chased me. Awesome. Though not as fun as getting a feather in Battle Course 2 and jumping into one of the pools and watching said friend get mad cause they can’t touch you unless they get a feather and jump in.
It’s part of the game you can’t ban it in tourneys deal with it.
