MAJOR UPDATE TO GAME ROSTER!!! Due to the size of the SF4 pre-reg list. SF4 and 3S has to switch days with each other! That means SF4 tournament will be on Saturday March 14, 2009 and the 3S tournament will be on March 15, 2009. I have to make sure that SF4 get’s completed in a timely manner! 3S will prolly reach 100+ also, but sf4 has a chance to reach 175 before it’s said and done. :wow: I’m sorry if this may hurt people chances attend FR12 due to them wanting to attend the GS tournaments. I never wanted to divide the scene and make people choose what tournament they were going to attend. :sad:
I’m sure this will hurt attendance at FR12, but it will be in the best interest of everyone that plans to attend FR12 that I have SF4 on sat. That way the people that are getting into town on friday will beable to play and the people that were planning to leave on sunday night can get on the road when they plan too. With atleast 140+ competing in sf4 at FR12 I think I HAVE TO MOVE IT TO SATURDAY!
Not that my opinion matters at all, but I think this is a bad idea.
Most of the people that signed up for SF4 knew that it was on a Sunday. It never changed, and if people didn’t know that when they signed up for it, then they should learn the hard way. Shaking up tournaments is never a good idea, especially when the tournament has been supposedly been set in stone for the greater part of the year. It doesn’t matter anyway I guess, I’m still entering both. But I’d expect some angry third strikers.
But that’s not what I’m posting for. If I get a Florida ID, or bring like a pay stub, or a bill, will I be able to enter the HDR tournament? I ask because you said that i need an Southwest ID, but I just moved down to Florida, and don’t have one yet. Just wanna know cuz that will let me know if I’m comin on Friday or Saturday.

(For the sf4 move to saturday)–I think the 3S will be completed on sunday. It’s a fast tournament game unless you have 2 chun li’s walking back and forth.
:looney: We had 114 last year in 3S and we finished it in 1 day. It’s just sf4 looks like it will be bigger than I thought it would be, so it has to be on saturday to make sure we don’t have to make the grand finals 2 out of 3. That would be wack imo, so I would rather move the dates and give people a chance to complete the tournament in a normal fashion instead of rushing shit on the last day.
Shinblanka, i believe you should leave sf4 on sunday or start sf4 on sat night becauseeeee ppl will be going to the gamestop tourney on saturday for sf4. And if its on sunday, they will show up to fr just for sunday.

I don’t know how long those GS SF4 tournaments will last and I think they will be run on the 1 ps3 set up in the glass box. If that’s the case with a 64 man tournament that will take all day long. As a tournament organizer I can’t worry about the GS tournament sir. A lot of people will be leaving on sunday night. If someone is traveling to FR for sf4 most likely they wasn’t going to attend if they planned to attend the GS tournament because if they qualify they wouldn’t fly to the ATL for 1 day and fly back home.
They would be saving money to goto san fran in the next month imo.

Unless I start the sf4 early on sunday it won’t be complete before 12 midnight. The thing about starting any tournament early with capcom players is it NEVER WORKS because we are NEVER on time!:rolleyes::annoy: You’ve been to plenty of Final Rounds and you know how long it takes to get people signed up. The line is stretched out the door into the pool area. I say 9am for sign up’s and the 1st people start showing up at 10:30am on sunday every year. We would need to start the sf4 tournament at 12 noon sharp to have a “chance” to complete it on time. Also with most of the tekken peeps getting in on sunday that always makes the line extra long on sundays.
It’s Unfortunate that I have to do this, but i feel that it will give us the best chance to complete the sf4 tournament in a timely manner. The other option is to make it single elim until the top 32, but I think that would turn more people away than moving the sf4 tournament to saturday. IMO the most people from out of the state of Ga that plan to attend the GS sf4 tournaments were not coming to FR12. I can’t worry about the GS tournament sir. I can only worry about making FR12 the best it can be.
I don’t want to do a pool system because I feel they take longer to complete in tournament form. I know no one wants to be up until 3am-5am playing in a tournament. I also have to pack up everything and getting out of the ballroom at 12 midnight on sunday/monday morning or I get extra charge for staying over the time I set up for the event. This event is booked for fri-sun and after midnight starts a new day. After the tournament ends I have to pack up everything and unpack it at my house and take the ryder truck back in the morning before they open.
I can’t do that if the tournament last longer than 1am. Last year we ran over with the smash tournament and I didn’t get out of the hotel until 3am. I didn’t get finished unloading my cab’s and tv’s until 5:30am and didn’t get to sleep before 8am on monday. This is with getting up at 6:30am on sunday to prepare for sundays events! I want to atleast get 2 hours of sleep before I have to take the ryder truck back. I almost crashed several times while driving that truck when I was sooooooooo sleepy!
There’s only 33 days left until FR12. I’ll see everyone in a month.

anywho I knew it SF4 with possibly 200 participants would not be finished in one day so good call on that larry…why is a goddamn gamestop tournament more important than this? what the hell is wrong with you people?..this is a community event…a chance for people to see old friends and chill out…this is the kind of thing that throws people off with planning something…ill stop here
