I kinda thought it would go down like that.:shake: :shake: I hope everyone won’t change their minds about coming to FRX due to EVOsouth, but I can’t win a fight against EVO. They are the backbone of the fighting game community in the usa, period and i’ll understand if people choose to goto EVOsouth instead of frx. Good luck to those that attend EVOsouth.

I started Final Round back in the day to bring people around the southeast together playing some games we enjoyed with the hope of it becoming a major/national tournament in the south for those that don’t get to attend majors cross the nation. I never thought I would be still doing this 10 years later, but here we are. I’ve had a great time playing and meeting alot of people over the years. I hope everyone comes out for this years event and makes FRX the best FR ever. Because Final Round won’t be shit without you guy’s(fighting game community) support.:confused: :sad: :sad: I’ve been told that EVO staff wants to talk to me to find a solution to the problem at hand. I just need time to cool down before we speak fella’s, so we can hash this out. Right now I feel like making FRX my last tournament and retiring from the community. Maybe i’ll feel different in a few days, but for right now I feel pissed off and sad.

If you talk to the Evo staff could you tell them to change the dates? I wanna attend both but I doubt it they will change it just for me. Just sux they have to be on the same date and they just now told us that there will be an evo south while frx has been planned since last year.

That’s what’ I’m saying. We ARE the south. If you weren’t coming anyway, and now Evo south got announced, good luck to you, but we’re still doing it big this year and if you don’t come you’re missing out on something really special.

We’re still in talks with the Evo staff to see what we can get worked out. I’ll let you guys know as soon as we get something finalized. The Evo south date isn’t going to be changed because they can’t change it. So it’s Final Round or Evo south. It’s up to you. It seems like the only people this will effect is the texas fence sitters who don’t want to go to showdown.

I was on alphaism radio last night and the outpour of support for Final Round was awesome. People were hella pissed about this Evo South announcement and were talking about boycotting Evo south. :lol: Thank you again, guys. Even Alex Valle was like “I heard Final Round was the shit”. So people know what’s sup.

evo staff has also already told toyota to expect terrible numbers for evo south cuz of this problem. its really unfortunate. but since they are binded to a contract, they had no choice. they dont expect anyone to bail on frx, nor do they want the people to do so.

I still support the idea of having an Evo South, and the fact that Evo is using corporate sponsorship to put the fighting game scene back on the map in the US.

However, FRX just seems like it’s going to be 10x more fun and interesting…

evo staff didnt have much say in the timing of the event, im sure. it’s like a full two months before all the other quals and less than a month’s notice

and evo west last year was one of the best tourneys i ever been to
