Man who Created the Hawaiian (Pineapple) Pizza Passes Away

I have to have pineapple in my pizza along with alfredo sauce & sriracha! Fuck yeah, ordering some Papa Murphy $10 Tuesdays!

pepperoni only pizza eaters staying salty

Chicago deep dish with pineapple, sausage, salami, prosciuto, spinach, and buffalo mozz

What is buffalo mozzarella?

Yeah, is this a fanfiction article?
What is pinapple pizza? if there’s pinapple on it is not pizza.
I’m a pureblood italian, born and raised pineapple doesn’t go on pizza, and since are on the topic, nor does beef or chicken.
The problem is that you non italian people don’t know any better, what you think is pizza is not even remotely close to real pizza, is a damn shame that it even exists.
So don’t discuss this topic, you know nothing about it.
Try to ask for a pineapple pizza in italy, you’ll get lynched on the spot.

Rice should never, ever, be put inside a tortilla. That’s blasphemy.

I have a pineapple, i have a pizza, I have pinapple pizza.

Once again you don’t have the pizza in the first place, you think you do but that’s not pizza

Real mozzarella.

You fucking know American “pizza” and Italian “pizza” Are basically two different things, so that’s a meaningless point to bring up. It’s like how “sushi” in America and in Japan are two different things as well.

That said I don’t care for Hawaiian either.

pizza didn’t have marinara sauce at first either.

The Northeast has good pizza, the fuck are you talking about? Most of my pizza that I can order in my hometown are from Italian immigrants with the accent and all. Most people know that if you order from a big pizza chain that you’re basically desperate for food. You need to order from an independent pizzeria. A lot of the bigger chains have closed down where im from. no more papa johns or pizza hut etc. Domino’s somehow hangs on. no idea why cuz that shit is gross. Unless you’re from NY, PA, NJ or a state really close to those, chances are you’ve had mediocre American pizza. Not always but it seems to be the case

Also, you should try old forge style pizza.

Pineapple goes on everything. It is the greatest food, and it will improve any dish.

Best pizza is literally any pizza without pineapple. It’s a fruit. I don’t see any peach pizza. With good reason. It’s a fruit.

First of all is not marinara, fuck sake marinara means from the sea, there is no sea in that sauce.
The OG pizza is pizza margherita, named and invented for Queen Margherita of Borbone (reigning family of Naples at the time)
Also buying pizza from guidos does not make it good. They don’t have the right ingredients, they don’t have the right tools. What they have is a broken ass accent that makes you go “oh boy they are gonna make me italian pizza”

Not really, bufala is just a kind of mozzarella and is in no way needed to make real pizza. That said Bufala on pizza is pretty damn awesome

Watermelon pizza is solid tho.

ahem

Fuck margarita pizza and the queen it was named after, shit’s boring as fuck.

That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve seen in my life. I’d rather eat that pea and mayo abomination.

I think you’re just jealous that Americans are better at everything.

Tomato is also a fruit, and its the Basis for most Pizza sauces.

WRONG!!! Pizza was never food for royalty, it was a simple peasant dish made for cheap mass consumption in the streets.

Pizza is not invented by the Italians. The “Italian Pizza was” a completely different Dish than the American Pizza.
The Italian Dish, a peasant dish was flat bread with toppings, fish, veggies, sometimes tomato (after its introduction from America).
No cheese, sauce or meats (as they were expesive at the time). Sometimes olive oil is used.

The Pizza that comes into everyone’s mind is a wholly An American Invention during the late 19th century.
Italian populations in New York City, Chicago, and Philadelphia (Fuck St Louis style, that shit ain’t pizza) Took a old peasant dish from ancient Rome and spruce it up for more refined American tastes.
The Dish didn’t take off till after World War II.

“An often recounted story holds that on 11 June 1889, to honour the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy, the Neapolitan pizzamaker Raffaele Esposito created the “Pizza Margherita”, a pizza garnished with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, to represent the national colours of Italy as on the Italian flag.”

So much for your timeline

Fiction at it finest. Also keep in mind its a popular story and not a solid fact.
