Probably they just picked MAME32 source and merged whit the files needed to enable online play.
No way they would create an entirely new program based in MAME32.
mame32k is derived from mame32 just as mame32 is derived from mame
They are no single entities(except for mame of course)
I really would like to know why you north-americans still use 0.64 and 0.67 when 0.115 is out there.
Here in Brazil we use Mame32ppk 0.115 and HKaillera for people with low-end PCs
Anyway, 0.115 works pretty fine here, Vista x64 Ultimate.

OHHH…Ai was getting that error too. I haven been able to play anything on mame32k cause i cant configure my buttons or get my joystick to read. default options were grayed out. been dying to play killer instinct
MAME32++ also plays all the older games. Why would you want a separate MAME for all the stuff in 0.64?
because I play in Kaillera and most people still use 0.64
I found a version of 32k that works perfectly with Vista…
i’m able to configure my controller and everything works perfect

I think 32k 0.67 works for Vista.
Hey for those of you seeking to set up mame32k 0.64 on Windows Vista for the first time and you keep getting that get the comctl32.dll error and can’t access your default game options, heres your cure for turning on your controllers :D. look in the folder your mame32k.exe is in, you’ll see a folder named ini, open in and find the file gamback.ini open that file with like notepad wordpad whatever and then find the line UseJoystick=0 Change the 0 to a 1 and then save, run your mame32k 0.64 and enjoy. 
That makes sense. I still could add my controls cause I saved my copy of 064 on a CD so it saved that option for me. You just can’t edit the default options in Vista… I still prefer XP…
What about setting the video/graphic options like scanlines, supereagle etc.?
i’d like to try 2xscale for example.
You get that comCTL32.dll ERORR because you need your library files no idea why you made some complicated BS for this.
