Makoto vs ChunLi

retuuuuuuurn of the living thread!!!

ROFL~

I totally forgot about this hilarity.

what did i just finish reading?

makoto to beat chun strat

walk over, club the other guy in the head
double perfect

siiiiick

bump

i need this… sum1 ls post sumthin useful :stuck_out_tongue:

b.HP eats me alive…

go insane, get pissed, throw caution to the wind, logic doesnt matter

remember, youre supposed to lose this matchup
so just do what you need ta do

tips:
standing strong and standing rh, beat ex sbk(strong must be timed late)

axe kick range is too tricky to rely on
too close = st. rh knee to the crotch to stuff
too far = cr. mk or far fierce
chances are if you get it right, you still might trade to back fierce
bottom line, be careful

st. rh trades or beats a whole lot but you can get nailed with cr. mk

do not cr. mk against her, her sweep(cr.mk) will win every time

ur not beating chun li, ur beatin the bastard playing her, in all respects, chun pwnz makoto

break throws good…
then lse regardess

couldn’t we make a petitionn or sumthin for capcom to fucking tone that bitch down? x.x lol

I’m taking my shot at resurrecting this thing. This is my worst matchup by far. I would rather fight a very skilled Ken than a mediocre Chun-li.

Hopefully somebody’s gained some anti-chun insight in the last 2+ years…

So far, all that I have is… sweep her out of b.hp or c.mk spam (but dont whiff or it’s your ass), dash in after a far hp, and walk her to the corner, and hope that you can keep her there. It’s not much, and easier said than done.

I’m thinking that saizo’s “go insane” strat is the best advice so far.

quit makoto and play a different character to beat chun li
…I say twelve or Q

<insert 14 page flame war>
I guess that’s what it boils down to-- i’m ready to give up and learn Yun.

Chun Li user here and to all you numbnuts that disses her thinking she cheap need go get bent and tell your dad put on some suspenders and butt ram you bubba style. Here I am trying to look at both sides of the match, instead I get shit bout lame characters like Q and Remy. No one stopping you from using Chun if you complain. Worst off I see another million post bout ppl from Toronto and London players being pussies and whatever. Hell if I care and thats for the other hundred people that read and can care less if you guys like to sword fight or what not.

^helluh random… THIRD STRIKE Y’ALL.

update: apparently “throw caution to the wind, logic doesnt matter,” etc WORKS.

My god, after reading this, I’m kind of glad I never really went to the arcades much in London. Would’ve had to deal with people like anti-retard.
Dude made it sound like Q was top tier or something.

will someone just sticky this thread and get it over with? it obviously wont die.

I come here looking for information on this match up and all I find is 4 pages about how London players suck.

Well, there was one good post on the first page at least.

  1. Use SA1. You’re not going to be landing SA2 on the slut, you’ll get more opportunities to land SA1. Use repeated c.rh to build meter from across the screen. Especially if chun is already sitting on her meter.

  2. I like chillin at fierce hayate range…which is outside of her far fierce range…to punish whiffed b.hp and far.hp’s of hers with hayate. Do hayate motions at random but always hold the button and let go or cancel accordingly.

If you can manage to land a fierce hayate, you’re in there. Stay on that bitch like white on rice.

  1. Also, if you must jump at her, it had better be with axe kick, mix up strengths and ranges. Never try to cross her up, that shit will get walked under.

  2. Most importantly, WIN THE FIRST ROUND…take advantage of her lack of meter. Don’t be wreckless but keep in mind she isn’t incredibly dangerous that early. Try not to let off. Cuz as soon as she gets meter, you know you gotta put on the brakes.

I hope this helps, if you have more specific questions…holla at me, cuz I’m bored, and having 3S withdrawels.

I agree SA 1 against most chuns. It gives you a high damage option from anywhere on the screen and you can reversal super her blocked cr fwd from close to mid range if needed.

As for cr rh to build meter i’d advise against it from less than full screen against a stocked chun. Its quite easy to punish it w/ sa II on whiff so i’d use standing strong would be better in said situation.

I have trouble with SA1… her attacks beat too many things that i try to hit-confirm->super with-- i guess the best option is to get in her face and whore karakusa until she stops blocking/poking? Or manage some random UOH->super setup. Orrr i could learn to hit-confirm c.lk->super.:wonder: I really don’t like to guess/gamble with that huge super-bar.

And, yeah… axe kick is okay if used sparingly. Chun’s fast walk-speed will eat your lunch if you make it too predictable though.

As for reversal SA1 on a blocked c.mk… DROOL. Time for some training mode when I get home from work.
