Definitely man … “all their hard work” that part was spot on ! I’ve been beating my ass learning her for 6 months ! Even more probably , I definitely feel like I deserve an award … even though it will cost me money … the only thing I lack right now is fighting game experience … this is the first fighting game that I’ve gotten in to a lot … probably the game I’ve spent most time on in my entire life (excluding world of warcraft when it came out lol … AND I STILL DIDNT REACH LVL60 !) Kind of an off-topic there but you get the point… we all deserve an award… and I feel like a lot of people will join our community here , on the Makoto part of the forum , let’s hope they are hard working like v-ryu with finding out stuff like combos and option selects , not just critisizing(i hope i spelled that right) and saying shit about the things we do … bad thing is that all the stuff that he came up with will be gone in a few days , a new chapter will be written :[ I don’t want that to end , but I doubt someone here will ever switch AE into normal SSF4 lol …

Oh man, but the BEST players will totally do that. I got to play Daigo at Season’s Beatings (he was taking 20 dollar money matches, and I just couldn’t pass up that chance), and the guy DP’d my cr.mp from almost max range. Just focus dashing through fireballs and waiting for him to walk back and throw out Ryu’s cr.mk, trying to establish a range where I could sweep it or tag it with a cr.mp OS hayate, and the second I pressed a button, BLAM SHEN LONG. I don’t know if it was reaction or if I was just predictable but that shook me hard.

That’s why I’d always be a firm advocate of online if it wasn’t for the lag factor. There’s really no better way to learn how to read your opponent, whether they’re just a panicky scrub or super good at punishing predicable buttons or whatever.

Mate that is absurd, I mean not the part about daigo … that is obvious … the part about people predicting me … the only person who can EXACTLY predict me is the guy who helped me get this good with Makoto … if I try dashing at him he’d OS me with ex hayate and get me in the corner right away … from there it’s over … he knows when I jump he knows when I block , he even knows what I think , but that doesen’t mean that I dont know what HE does … problem is that as I said earlier , I have absolutely no fighting game experience , I bought the game early december last year and he’s my first friend from SSF4. I got my ass beat by random people , then I went on the replay channel after I decided to play Makoto and I saw a replay of him and I thought “maybe he’ll be polite enough to teach me” and that’s it … lol I have no idea why I wrote the whole story down, but what I wanted to describe is how well he knows how I play.

I prefer letting one round slide when it comes to random people (on ranked for example), without rushing him down a lot to see how he plays , then in the next rounds I start aiming for the neck  it feels good in my hands  What you said about Daigo though, why didnt you just wait for him to whiff that shoryu and punish it with a cr MP into ex hayate ? Or was he OS’ing the uppercut on his cr MK … I dont get it … it has to be reaction if he got you every fucking time lol … and talk about reaction … that’s not even human …

I’m talking at the tips of Mak’s fingers when I say he DP’d it at max range, way beyond where I thought an uppercut was a threat. And just a naked DP, no OS or anything. I figured I’d be dealing with a cr.mk or cr.mp, never an uppercut. But I guess I can’t really make an example of that, it’s Daigo after all.

the initial hitbox on shoryukens is ridiculous, it hits way in front of where their actual fist are & covers the whole entire lower portion of their bodies…anyway shoryuken mashing against Makoto & Rufus is a pretty legit strategy, since when they do get in or attempt to get in they will try it with pressure instead of slow cautious movements, by the time you figure out this guys gonna mash you you’re already down a round and a half probably. or don’t any of you remember Ricky bitching about Daigo mashing the crap out o him at EVO?? lol

I…I actually managed to beat a T. Hawk tonight. I still have no idea how I did it either.

I cannot beat t. hawk either … too many uppercuts … one in the air , one AT the air , one on the ground , a command grab that does a shit ton of damage and automatically stops my tsurugi game , no thank you , I prefer fighting guiles …

edit: I honestly don’t get why people are disliking my videos , it’s not that it matters but like … if you don’t like the video just don’t rate gaddamn it …

I’m convinced a good T. Hawk, Cammy, or Balrog requires several blessings from the luck goddess if they know the match-up. Like, seriously, you might as well flip a coin five times and have to guess right every time against these guys.

lol, this comment made my night.

Just something so so horrible feeling about successfully keeping a Hawk out, stopping every jump, convincing them it is bad to whiff command grabs and still getting scooped up for the loss.

Psh , why Balrog ? What’s so hard about balrog ? Tsurugi all day man , his jabs die off on the spot , also if he’s good an has reactions bait him by neutral jumping and then doing tsurugi in the last moment, the only Balrogs that I can’t beat are the ones that do jab > throw on my wake-up … that shit is seriously cheap

The ones I have most trouble with are probably Guile … Rose … Blanka … T. Hawk … Zangief … that’s about it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The problem against rose is that I can keep up on health with a good Rose player , but the moment he gets ultra it’s over if he knows how to get it in …

the ones that REALLY gives me trouble when they actually know the matchup… is cammy zangief feilong and thawk . When i play these matchups i need to be at my A game or else im roosted.

Today I played against your friend Baked Pancho(cammy player) and I thought I figured out how to stop cammy’s cannon strike game … but I was soo wrong … it’s impossible as it is right now … maybe in arcade edition we’ll be singing a different song , but for now it’s impossible … and another thing - you don’t have troubles against guile wtf ? it’s impossible to get in if he throws a jab or fierce after his sonic booms … you have to be too patient to wait for him to wiff a flash kick or something … so yeah … i have the same awfull bad matchups like you, but with guile in it … cammy guile t hawk zangief blanka … why fei long ? his chicken wing is good but a lot of people dont know that it’s too good for makoto so yeah … i dont know … we’ll see … AE is coming soon so all those things dont matter right now :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree with guile i kind of forgot him but the guile matchup is all about patience. Fei gives me trouble once im in the corner and with rekke pressure its easy for fei to put any1 in the corner. Cant switch to ultra 2 to get out of the corner cause ultra 1 is to good in this match up…

Did u win against panchos cammy? i usually win the most when i use makoto. Its important that u switch to ultra2 in this match, on reaction u can ultra her canon strike and its good for getting away from the corner . Once makotos in the corner this matchup turn like 9 - 1 in cammys favor LOL true story

Beat Cannon Strike on reaction? I’m sorry but I don’t believe that’s legit. Getting out of the corner is though.

not instants canon strike. I usually do it when she does the crossup cannon strike when cammy does it higher up and its most on when she does it on my wakeup so its easy to react many cammy players does that cause of makotos lack of AA on wakeup .

I get really scared of her mixup games so i intend to never get knockdown once she gets on canon strike pressure its hard to get out. So i usually play very catious against her. Somethimes i just smash ultra2 on midscreen against her on wake up just to get out of her mixups.

Yeah but that can resolve in a bigger punish … why not just use U2 and make makoto go in the corner when you’re midscreen ? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: bah … just wake up ultra … you got no other choice… and no I didnt beat pancho , I tried beating cannon strike most of the time , but it’s impossible

I normally try to U2 my way out of the corner too, but the last time I tried it, a really good Cammy crossed me up just before the Ultra with a Canon Strike and made me fly straight into her from the other corner. I was like, “NOOOOOOO!!!”

I have a bunch of videos that I’ve been posting onto my Youtube page. And, now with AE out, I plan to have many more. I’m a rather experienced player. I’ve kept up with tournaments streamed by teamspooky and iplaywinner. Crosscountertv is also a good Youtube channel. I’ll embed a few videos and ask for some discussion about Makoto. There are many, many more on my channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/xth3shad0wx

check out this awesomeness at around 17:43 http://www.youtube.com/user/GAMEacho#p/u/2/I8zj476XpP8

Yeah, it can’t go much better than that. Two right reads = game over. I gotta practice that fukiage -> j.HP -> meaty MP?.oroshi set up. Not that it’s difficult, just gotta commit it to muscle memory.
