tsurigi is -1 on block reversal spd is 0 startup tsurigi is good but not abusable punishable sometimes (everytime if gief knows the matchup to a t bassically the gief has to be expecting it and most likely cant punish from the tip of hk version:karate:

Tsurugi is -1 ONLY if you hit as low as possible. Otherwise it’s a free SPD. I’ve never liked Tsurugi on Gief’s wake-up, it should only work once, then it’s a guessing game if you try to do it again.

jumping wouldn’t help you even if it were neutral on block, there’s a number of pre-jump frames that are considered grounded, in which you can be grabbed of course (i think it was 4 frames)

Naw man prejump frames are throw immune. It’s how you get out of non-zero frame grab ultras by just holding up even though you aren’t technically off the ground for a couple of frames.

ok the makoto chanel is up and running i was thinking of having the top makoto players on this site share the chanel with me something along the lines of Giant killers.The
main goal will be to vs pro players and post results of giant killing:karate: xbox live most pro players r on from time to time also we can upload casuals and technique/setups vids

Just watched FAXgimoto vs Soymaster:

I am wondering why FAXgimoto goes for HK tsurugi against Akuma? He lands 3 or 4 of them but isn’t MK tsurugi a bigger thread for damage and stun vs Akuma? Am I missing something?
