I don’t think it was a Kara-Karakusa. Most likely a regular karakusa or a mini-Kara-karakusa.

This video at 2:48 did i miss something? I didn’t know you could cancel Hayate without kick. Unless he’s holding down a kick button in which case i didn’t know it worked like that either.
yea in Super, you can buffer a kick so that you can Hayate cancel easier.

PhoenonX, I like your method of knocking them down to get in. Your execution was lacking in the Ryu vid sometimes or you were just baiting to see if he was going to SRK all day.
I would try to kara kara grab to let them know you’re able to get them. Bait and follow up appropriately

What the hell was that at the end? You can EX hayate through his Sonic Hurricane? Or were the active frames over already? I thought it stayed out much longer than that.

if it whiffs, it goes away REAL fast, he shot in just as active frames were ending, very lucky on timing.
you are passing up a great deal of punish opportunities too by always going into hayate rather than comboing in an oroshi from s.hp to maximize stun, but good play none the less. Post videos of you losing as well as winning, you get a better barometer that way of how you actually perform, and can receive feedback on where you went wrong.
Only posting wins doesnt really help teach you much. you learn more from losses than you do victories.

Every time I watch your uploaded vids of Makoto, it brings tears of joy in my eyes.
Also, your upload is only at 40kb? Do you get a lot of laggy games? 'cause I thought the upload speed made a difference with the latency bars?
Great stuff here, im just recently learning makoto after using ibuki since SSF4 came out, the speed difference is a big hindrance on my game atm… having trouble landing karakusa during matches also. Im still fairly new when it comes to using FAs for offense/defense which is another part of my sub par makoto.
One request i do have for any other matches you put up, can you put input display to ON, will help me understand whats going on better

I have a HD-PVR so I’ve been recording a ton of stuff. Not gonna lie, my Mak is bad. I don’t sit in B range enough and I don’t handle fireballers all to well.
I do have some moments, such as a U2 reversal to a wake up U1 from SIM, a few quality perfects, and some really odd stuff, such as a shutdown of a jump hurricane from a Ryu with a ex Tsurugi. I could probably use more ex oroshi after some of my hayates to counter some of their post hayate poking, and when I do hit I could probably do a better job following up. I’m still working on getting better at kara karakusa since I find that some of my ex karas are just barely out of range.
I can probably also work on advancing, using f+mp as well as the f+k options. I do use f+hk some, and I don’t ever really use c+hp enough to set up sweeps and resets.
Ah well, plenty of work to be done.

Testament, I just saw your vids before coming here. Good matches, but a lot of them were gimmes. The Ryu had no idea what he was doing. You need to look for tougher competition next time.
