That’s one of the best-looking cakes I’ve ever seen. Could easily be in a magazine. Is Chocoblanka in the culinary field somewhere?

Hmm…I guess we can name it ChocoMakoto lol.

Casual matches of Combofiend’s makoto against f.champ during WCW3 :

Has anyone had their Tsurugi cross up on couching opponents in the corner? I almost always do it unintentionally and when it happens, the opponent is never able to block it. Makoto also lands behind the stunned opponent and I’m able to follow up with a combo. Possible unblockable?!?!? lolol jk.

That works. Between cr.lk and st.mp, you’ve got almost every possible sim limb covered. Only problem is, cr.lk has a weaker hit box than st.mp and only 4 active frames, so it’s harder to snag one.

I also really like using cr.lk OS EX Hayate inside shoto cr.mk range, it’s such a good way to shut that garbage down.

That was James Chen recording that. I was standing right next to him, behind Combofiend. I was too into the match to pull out my cam and record the matches lol.

How good is his Makoto?

It’s Combofiend. Its bound to be godlike…

Well he beat Filipino Champ, so I’m guessing that means he’s pretty good with her.

I just remember him losing a match with her at WCW, so I wasn’t sure.

Hey guys, I just picked up Makoto this month and I’m looking for critiques. I’ve learned a lot of her setups, but I definitely feel like my match-up knowledge is lacking. I end up putting myself in bad situations with setups I’ve learned, and drop rounds and matches because of it.

I want to make sure that I’m learning the character correctly rather than just applying basic/general fundamentals to Makoto. These are two matches vs two different A-Rank Kens on PSN. Any tips on my positioning, footsies, okizeme, etc. would be appreciated.

In the second round of both games I noticed that I put myself in the corner for pretty much no reason, and it essentially ended the round. I’m also pretty afraid of Ken’s f.Mk, so I pretty much avoided standing in that range entirely. It shows in the third round of the second match where I get tagged trying to backdash away and eat two combos in a row.

I treat Ken like a grappler. Every competent Ken I’ve ever faced will Kara-throw all day after their blocked hit-confirm, unless you IA Tsurugi or backdash. I don’t know much to help you, Forte, except for you to bring your game closer. f+MK range is good, you can Tsurugi from there if they try it.

Even the mighty V-Ryu just can’t handle the mix-ups. It’s so sad, I’ve even picked up Cammy just to understand her better.

I don’t want to wait six whole months for the match-up to be better.

Forte, it looks like u have a pretty good gasp on her, but you never use c.MP or hayate cancel, those are both really helpful tools.

40 minutes of Jwong beasting with Makoto in AE from the ArcadeUFO stream - Justin.tv - arcadeufo - SSF4AE @ Arcade UFO - Austin, TX - feat. EG Marn!

Makoto action starts around 1:19

p.s. First post!

That’s Marn, not Justin Wong.

Hmm, assumed it was Wong due to the weird wording in the eventhubs article and the fact that I’ve not seen Marn’s Makoto before. More peeps jumping on the Makoto bandwagon?

I think it’s more like a lot of people wanted her to be awesome in Vanilla. Unfortunately, she wasn’t. Now that she’s back to 3S beastliness, more top players are going to be playing her.

Is it just me, or do Viper players naturally gravitate towards Mak? In a recent episode of Cross Counter FlashMetroid said he was going to switch his main from Viper to Mak. I wonder if Marn is going to do the same?

Ye thats Marn’s Makoto you can clearly hear the commentators confirm it during the stream.

Nuts, you’re right I’ve noticed this too and I’m one of those viper players that picked up Makoto as well. I’m not really sure what it is that makes Makoto appealing to Viper players, they play nothing alike but If I had to guess… they both have feints lol just kidding. I think its coz no scrubs could or ever will be able to pick either up and whore out a win, and potentially both chars can be explosive if you cared enough to overcome the execution barriers and make the right guesses. Ridiculously fun and somewhat non-lame in terms of scrub antics.

I originally mained Viper and Makoto.
