Oh that sorta sucks, thought you could upload them and others could just watch anytime.
Keep the vids up guys. It’s a tremendous help:)
Hey guys, Ive just started uploading some of my Makoto vids http://www.youtube.com/user/xXShowstoppahXx
If you cant tell from my username im a chun player from sfiv but since Super ive been hell bent on learning me some Makoto. Take a look and critique me for being a scrub i need the advice. Thanks alot!!!
Thanks for the compliments everyone
My Makoto isn’t good enough to deserve the praise, though. I rely on gimmicks mostly atm. Lots I need to work on.
Hopefully…I live in KY though. Not much of a scene here. Was gonna go to a few tournies and stuff within driving distance recently but I had to work every time. Hopefully soon though.
Great matches Lost Fragment!
f.MP and s.MP are such good pokes and yet I saw little/no use of them.
Also, Hayates are pretty unsafe on block. Throw in some cancels if cr.MP and cr.LP are being blocked. Then catch punishes with pokes/FA.
Anyway, I love your use of cr.MK and the overall mix-up. I rarely ever use EX Tsurugi and you flawlessly implemented it into your corner pressure.
Keep it up!

Not the greatest Makoto by far but I would appreciate any sort of constructive criticism. BTW LostFragment, I love your Makoto. I aim to be as good as you someday, not before some training of course :karate:
I thought you would have at least lost the first round of the first video when you got stuck in the corner. But then again not everyone is me. Was that U2 punish of the dive kick a guess or on reaction? Normally I try to st.MP to convince Juri to cut those dive kicks out, but an U2 punish is much more convincing. The second fight looked like every fight I have against Guile. Sorry to be just a waste of time, but I have no clue on how to get inside on him yet. Third fight, yeah, that happens. Sucks, but not much you can do afterward but shrug. I would say work on more anti-airs, as he jumped in free a few times where st.MP or another normal would have told him not to. Then again, I am uploading a video where I hit U2 over full screen tiger shot two times in three rounds, and I thought the first one would have told him to stop.
Here are a few fights I had in ranked mode tonight. Not all are finished uploading, but all will be put into the Makoto Training Playlist I have here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Disgustipated#p/c/38CE840F29AD898A

New videos against Chun again! A lot of them (17 matches total) so just check some out and give me some critique if you want.
Got vs Rose coming up later today (or 2nite)!
Seems like Abare might be the better ultra in the chun matchup just to persuade her not to throw so many fireballs. I only saw seichusen used after a dizzy so it wouldn’t seem like you would lose too much in the exchange but Chun would lose a big part of her game plan once you got ultra. Good matches, very skilled makoto.
I guess you can say that U2 was a guess. It was a reaction to her jump in not necessarily her dive kick. The second she jumped I used U2 thinking I would catch her in the air. Not sure if U2 can be used like that though, sort of an AA. Your definitely right about needing to AA more. I’m so used to being able to EX SBK with Chun that I forget normals are good AA tools as well.
My guess is the Sagat thought that because the U2 in the second round didn’t work that the first was just a fluke.

Makoto[Teben] vs Vega[Strife7C]

One of my bad match ups currently. More entries coming soon.
^^ Teben:
If you ever get a stun, do a neutral jump into whatever combo. Lvl 3 focus could be risky if they decide to mash like crazy and you mistime it…ANYTHING but Karakusa into a combo.
That would definitely be smarter.
You guys wanna see Tatsu using Makoto?
SUUUURE you do! =P

SSFIV: Makoto[Teben] vs Adon[Uknowable Eye]

Great stuff, on both sides!
Rizhall I don’t know why we’re friends on SRK but we are and you’re my only friend… :>
I almost didn’t realize the names are right there so it’s obviously online. Durrrrrrr.
Cool stuff though, fun to watch.
Interesting stuff. I saw an EX Fukiage instead of U1 after Karakusa and j. mks that looked like they were supposed to be IA Tsurugis. It feels good to know that the pro players are making these mistakes early on too.
I like the explanations, but you do have to admit it’s a bit of “how to beat the Scrub vol.1”. It’s cool, it really is, but those tactics don’t work so well vs non-morons. I catch adons like that, and it took me a long time to actually lay back and let them come to me.
But against a decent Adon player, you’re screwed if you think they’ll be jumping back and faking jaguars the whole match like those idiots do.
I’m quite positive you know that though. And again: nice video. You should make one for Ryu, Abel, Dictator, Blanka. Those are the “irritating ones” that scrubs have been using more and more, lately.
That way of thinking during matches vs scrubs works wonders using any character in the game. Baiting them.
(And the simple fact that you used that epic song, already puts you on top of my respect list… :D)
Yeah, I’m under no delusions about what I’m doing or who I’m fighting. You’re not going to see videos of me stomping my way the final matches of high-profile tournaments any time soon. Hopefully as time goes on, there will be some interesting matches for people to see. Even so, I’m basically just chronicling my personal experiences playing the game and I run into a hell of a lot of “scrub” types and many of them have the same habits…for those who lurk silently at SRK or from outside the community, these habits don’t seem to be as obvious and hopefully seeing these vids are interesting for those people. I’ve gotten some good advice from posting these, too.
That being said…

SSFIV: Makoto[Teben] vs Cody[Ryce22]

nice match there Teben. i’m having a tough time with Cody too. His crossiup game seems just as deceiving as DJ Ken and Ryus. Sometimes it looks like it will cross-up but stay on the same side. You are the best Makoto I’ve seen then again haven’ seen many Makotos around I play on the PSN and its rare to see recorded game of really good MAk and Gen players out there. I love playing Mak and gen. It may be uphill battles but I just like the challenge.
