V-Ryu’s Makoto makes me want to get better with Makoto. I’ve been having more success with her lately, but I seem to lose pretty badly to good Vega (Claw), Blanka and Fei-Long players. If there are any videos of Makoto winning against a good Vega (Claw), I’d love to see that.

i find your makoto good. Happy to see that more and more makoto players become are good (still miss a lot of tsurugi, as i do too xD (jump HK or jump MK. LOL).

thanks man. i do miss a lot of IAT under pressure. sometimes it pays off though, because they try to jump out and eat a psychic j.mk, lol
does IAT work with tiger knee? someone said it does but i can’t get it to come out
It can but the problem with it is that Makoto has to be a certain distance from the ground before she can use Tsurugi. This causes the window of opportunity to hit the kick button to be really small since you have to be fast enough so that the qcb of the TK is still part of the kick you are going to press but slow enough so that you are high enough in the air to meet the air requirement. In the end, just jumping and then doing a qcb really quick is more effective.

i was interested.

I watched the match and heres my quick analysis.You jumped at Chun a bit too much,although that chun didn’t really punish for it.When chun jumps at you,antiair her!cr.mk,st.fp and fukiage are what I use successfully against chun at different spacings.Her jump is very floaty and easy to AA.A few times you even could of ultra 1 her jump in.You also used st.mk while right next to her a few times.St.mk isn’t that great vs chun,especially that close.I would use st.mp at that distance.Learn to IAT.
I’m usually scared out of my mind to attempt AA but I can see your point on how floaty she is and how that’d be to my advantage.
Yah I think I need to play more to see what works and what doesn’t. Like the matchup thread is more focused on strategies and such.
Also, tbh, I don’t know what IAT is… lol, is that like Instant ? ? something ? ?

Happens to me from time to time, I just stopped trying to Karakusa after a focus attack and go for the raw ultra. I don’t think the damage is much different and it’s a lot less embarrassing.
this is why i believe mok to be the best & why i don’t view Makoto as a rush-down character
