This match is so not fair. Good reads pay off against his low, but usually you either have to wait for the read (and open yourself up to his buttons) or do something that loses to his other junk. I HATE s.HK.

What I do against akuma is a thing I like to call (zangief voice) “intercept” !! lol … just try countering his offense in whatever way you can … he has low stun and health so if you get lucky enough to do 1 mixup it’s over … and use Fukiage on his demon flips because : 1: it’s easy to react and 2: a trade is good for you since you can juggle after it (and the juggle will take like 40% of his health if you dont miss it i guess)

Is there any way at all to mess with Guy’s EX Tatsu? I play with a Guy who rarely does it (because you can’t FADC it), but there are times when the pressure’s too much for him not to consider trying something but I want to keep momentum. Nothing?

Same thing with Chun-Li. What kinds of tricks can mess up her EX SBK? Late, late HK Tsurugi?

I play vs Guy who abuses EX Tatsu and the best solution I’ve got up to this point is to bait it. I couldn’t beat it with anything :[
vs EX SBK HK Tsurugi works very well!

Robot , when you do a HK Tsurugi almost at the top of your jump arc it beats EX SBK … no option selects though … and you have to do it when you fall from the jump … like "jump>top of arc>(wait a LITTLE bit) > hk tsurugi

This is the best way I try to bait and punish Guy’s ex tatsu: EX-chop, jump over, Tsurugi (not instant air). If timed right, the EX-tatsu whiffs and Mak will be in perfect position to punish with a LP fuki–> fuki --> EX-Tsurugi for max damage. Or U1, if you have it.

Also, the fwd MP safe jump setup after EX-chop works on Guy also. so EX-chop, fwd MP, neutral jump attack whiff. If Guy blocks, continue pressure. If Guy EX-tatsu’s, dash forwards, karakusa --> etc.

Ah, that EX Oroshi set-up should be good. Hopefully it catches his backdash, since he ALWAYS backdashes if I’m far away on wakeup, like EX Oroshi, forward dash, jump forward whiff attack, HK Karakusa.

The Guy I play knows that safe jump all too well. It’s a good thing and a bad thing - good because I get a potential j.LP, Karakusa or hit-confirm into mix-up, bad because, well, he blocks mostly, and I don’t free damage off it.

HOWEVER, i do have an exceptionally good internet connection. I have a few friends in europe that I play often with minimal, almost unnoticable lag. I also play a guy in Austrailia pretty often and I have no lag with him at all. Can’t hurt eh?? Please feel free to add me if you want to get some games in!

Have you ever tried the Fukikusa OS? Works wonders on Backdashing/Neutral Jumping/back jumping. If you are suspecting one of these, or if they are abusing one of these, then you can hit them for some crazy damage.

Just know that LP Fuki beats damn near everything she can do in the air, f MP stops all of her EX moves, she is a sucker for option selects and wakup games, and she has crap health. you will have to use your normals to get in. Number 1, realize that you are always always at a slight disadvantage, or even at best. But there are ways around her pokes.

-You can OS rose TO DEATH. Unless she has ultra. Just bait and wait. Then continue OSing her TO DEATH. Thing about Rose is she doesn’t deal with pressure very well. Yeah yeah she has a projecitle and a G2A grab. Whatever. Tsurugi that shit. All that shit. She has no answer for Tsurugi even on block.

-vryu came up with an excellent Option Select for Rose. someone correct me if i’m wrong but I think it is:

-Combo>EX Oroshi. JF (whiff attack), c.LK (whiff), FA1
-If she back dashes, she gets hit with the FA, and you can continue the combo
-If she spiral/EX Sprial, the FA counterhits for a crumple stun, and you can do full combo.

-Once you are not so afraid of rose, realize that she can be grabbed out of all of her spirals. Even EX. Just Karakusa that shit.

-Block the pokes… respect the pokes. let her do it and zone her with NJ HK Tsurugi. Once you tag her and she’s on the ground, that’s when you begin mix up. Dont’ try to dash in and start any offense, or she’ll poke you to death. Once she’s on the ground, then you go after her. but until then, be patient.

-Ultra 2. Definately. Punishes anything she does (that’s not a normal or U2) across the screen on reaction. Anything.

-It’ll be even worse in AE.

The way to stop Rose’s ultra 2 is not easy , but it’s not hard either , usually when I see that she has ultra I back away on her wake-up when she activates (since im baiting her) and when most Roses get their ultra they get a bit greedy and start jumping , I’ve done this many times and the way to stop it is to anti-air (the best anti-airs I’ve found for stoping her U2 in the air are cr HK , Fukiage and st HP>hayate cancel(not necessery)) But still the only way to stop it without it hitting you is to time it so good that the balls must be away from your hurtbox

I’ve never had this work against a back jump. However, with the right button combo it works wonders against block, neutral jump, and forward jump

I think Back jump is the most difficult. I know it works on shotos, and most other characters with a short jump. The problem is you have to dash past them for a few frames while you’re inputting the command. Otherwise you have to abandon the option select and just do HP Fuki

I actually haven’t tried it against a forward jump, but i dont’ know many people that will forward jump after getting hit with Hayate. If I think they will forward jump, I usually go for a late crouch tech to see if they’ll jump or try to throw (c.LK comes out and whiffs) and if they jump, i just do LP Fuki into combo.

Who else feels Balrog is now Makoto’s worst match-up in AE?

Omg wtf is up with oni and evil ryu. Baiting doesnt help at all. Its like they has a wall O hit box by just moving. I was doing good until I played nothing but bisions and evil dudes. Didnt win a single match. Sometimes I don’t even know how I got hit.
