Dudley information, people? The OP is really outdated, and there hasn’t been much info on him at all in this thread recently.
s.MK and Tsurugi are the only things that seem good for footsies, and s.MK/Fukiage on AA. Other than that, I’ve got nothing for fighting Dudley over fighting someone else.

Really? Whenever I try to play footsies with s.MK against Dudley I get stuffed by his s./f. Fierce all day. s.MP seems like the only option here.
there ain’t much to say, his ducking & FP own you…i treat him like a grappler, keep the fuck away from me!! wall him out with MP’s, dash c.HP every once in a while, if you get the knockdown you can go to town on him, if you see him jump; MK (or if you have godlike reactions Fukiage) i find the f.MK target combo can work sometimes too if he’s dancing around in front of you a lot
whatever you do don’t let him get you to the corner, stand your ground, if he knocks you down mid screen you can usually backdash to safety as most Duds are gonna try their overhead/sweep game on you first, Dudley has no crossups either so if he tries to anticipate your backdash you just forward dash right under him…& if he ever dares EX Machinegun Blow give him a taste of fist in his nuts, free Ultra1 on block
You’re right, s.MP is a bit better in stuffing s.HP and f+HP. It’s funny, I was having good results in my matches with s.MK, but my s.MP was just bait. A little testing shows both are good at counter-poking, but s.MP’s range for stuffing is higher.
Just found out c.MK beats his f+HP extremely reliably.

Information is given dates, there’s a simple section for AAs, pokes, punishes, and strategy, and in our forum’s case, a whole lot of character specifics like Fukiage in corner, the range they’re left at for HP Hayate, how effective certain setups are on them, etc.
I mean, if I’m getting reamed in a matchup, and I can quick learn that c.MK beats 99% of their air game, that would be a lot better than control+F “Gouken” through 50 pages or spending five-ten minutes in training mode.
NJ Tsurugi wreaks havoc on Duds wakeup. If he ultras or reversal reversal SRK, you go behind him. If he back dashes you hit him. His normals get stuffed. Just don’t do it too low or U2/EX SRK will catch you. Also understand that he has no wakeup game against meaties without EX. So stick it to him quick, bait out and punish his EX Moves, and once he has no more EX Go back to town. None of his non EX moves have invincible startup frames from what I know. At times like this you can do meat stMP>Kara EX Karakusa and it will grab most mashing. For when he begins backdashing/jumping to escape, start using IAT or OS fukikara on his wakeup.
Also, I know my makoto is a little more aggressive than most, but I learned that you can dash under any move tha hits high. So duds st MP/HP, Gief st MP/HK, chun st HK, Thawk st HK, etc. You can actually dash FORWARD under the active hotbox and grab them during their recovery. This helps ALOT against Duds as they try to keep you at stHP distance since you can’t hit them from there. Focus dashing is also really good in this match. Go through those low slow normals (since he cant cancel them into anything) and punish his ass with backthrow + oki or lk Kara if you’re feeling lucky
Oh and yeah, learn to bait EX MgB. Really good advice from Zuranthus.

Seems to only work on the people that EX.hayate -> LP.fukiage -> EX.tsurugi currently works on
I’m sure the combo is nothing exceptionally new but havn’t seen it utilised. Does less damage and stun than MK.tsurugi -> lp.hayate -> EX.tsurugi but gives you an untechable knockdown leading to our favorite mix up game. Similar to Akuma opting for sweep as opposed to shoyuken.

Devote an entire section for each character to wake-up and setups. I think her Oki is worthy of multiple paragraphs for each individual character.

Working on it. Ive still yet to start on the character specific stuff. Mostly trying to organize so much stuff… You wouldn’t believe how much typing this is lol. I’m going to try my best to condense it all as much as possible, but honestly, a lot of this stuff requires explaining. I think a thorough sticky will cut down on the amout of posts that ask questions that have been answered. I’m going through this stuff… There’s a lot of crap… But I’m working on it.
