Maining 2 Characters

you’re not allowed to find ken mirrors uninteresting louis.
this is srk.

What’s implied here is the nature of each character and how each character is played at their best. Considering both Justin and Ricky do not play 3S to the extent that most do (and by that, they don’t know the full strengths of Chun), it’s a safe bet to say that when they play, it’s not the 7-3 matchup domination you’d expect.

What duralath said. no ones knocking on Ricky or Justin being strong players. they have good fundamentals and they use the best character in 3s. They’ve shown they have good fundamentals and skill in other games.

it’s just their level and understanding of chun and 3s is different than top chuns like nuki rikimaru and mov. you can’t compare their chun with top Japanese chun.

Kinda on topic, rikimaru’s personal match up ranking from July 9th.

Alex 6.5
Remy 6.7
Twelve 7
Oro 6.1
Necro 6.6
Q 6.4
Makoto/yun/yang 4.7~5.5

chun sides opinion, not sure if non chun players or other chun players would agree with this

Even though no American chun might make the match up 7-3. chuns a strong character anyway, and the chance to play a strong chun in the states is rare so I don’t disagree with learning to use her to understand the character and mentality in the future. I’m not saying learn her as a counter pick or anything.

That’s really interesting.
I wish I could properly read what he said about each matchup.

For someone so skilled with the character against the best users of every other character to say things like oro is basically a 6-4 matchup makes me super curious.
i can’t imagine really any matchup in the game to be 7-3. i think for too long strong players were using characters that were stronger too and that skewed the perspective.

Google Chrome translates pages for you. I’m reading through it now. It’s easy to comprehend

Don’t know why I couldn’t upload URL. Shows an updated tier list with matchups.

Chun wins at least 7 out of 10 games against (IB RY OR EL NE AL RE _Q TW HU SE)

.

I think he just wrote about goals/things you should keep in mind as a chun player.

hard to translate all of it for me.

If @aku or someone is willing to fill in what I can’t translate I’m down but if not I don’t see the point of doing it incomplete.

I’ll work on it tonight. I might need proofreading after though, this is a lot of information.

@aku

I have some of it already finished. hit me up on AIM if you are going to work on it.

I would say to stick with whoever you like until you actually know how the game flows and how well you know your character against the whole cast.

I switch from time to time, but it’s because I like using or want to learn the other characters, not because I want to counter.

Once Chun Li has at least one superart(2) available, I can’t be as reckless. It is so hard to get a win off of someone who knows what they’re doing. It’s like I’m playing a game of “protect the feet!”, I can sense their urge to medium kick into super art 2 the moment they get a special… That’s it… I’m going to abandon Ibuki and join the hordes of kens that I see online so I can stand a chance!(j.k).

In all seriousness, am I the only one that finds it hard to face the Lee brothers because of their height?

Small characters have tremendous advantages in this game. Chun, Yun/Yang, Ibuki, Oro, even Twelve can get out of sticky situations because of their small/low hitboxes. Oro can dash under fireballs, Twelve can WALK under them. Elena’s cr.HK also lets her go under fireballs(including her slide). It’s literally just her lying on the ground and kicking her feet out.

Ibuki’s good. She owns all the big characters(Urien, Alex, Hugo, Q), has a lot of variety in her game and does respectable damage/stun. You could say she’s like Akuma Lite. She loses out to Chun, but she does pretty well against everyone else. I say keep her around.

they can be a pain. harder to juggle.

to add to what aku said, remy has one of the smallest crouching hitboxes. he is not affected by akuma’s tatsu on the ground. you can simply crouch and akuma will go over.

Elena is pretty boring to play -_-

She’s for the most part boring, but KO makes her look amazing.
