The hardest tempest to mash is when you get grabbed with the frozen shard grab and combo into hypergrabXXtempest in the corner. thats the hardest mash but thats about it. At ecc i witnessed Josh Wong’s psylocke mash out of a frozen shardxxHyperGrabxxTempest dhc into hail storm. hardest mash ever!

i think the reason it is harder for hyper/grav tempest to be mashed out of when the opponent is further away is because normally when you do tempest combo you do hyper grav cancel into tempest so if the opponent is further away by the time the hyper grav catches them the tempest is already out giving them less time to mash out.

I agree with this. The FP throw -> Hypergrav XX tempest is mashable, and isn’t that hard to mash out of. As soon as the hypergrav touches you, you can start mashing to get out. As the above poster said, the problem is that sometimes the tempest rocks are already on their way to you, making the window of mashing even smaller or non-existent in certain cases. Last time I checked, the way the tempest rocks spawn is all random, right? Maybe that has something to do with it?

It doesn’t matter when they do the tempest or the hyper grav. You start mashing as soon as your character is sucked in completely.

So it’s just all random then, right?

I know the Tempest is random. So could that be the main factor here?

It depends on when the hyper grav hits.

Technicaly any mashing that they do doesn’t count until the Hyper grav it’s.

That means, the later the hyper grav hits during the tempest combo, the smaller the mashing window will be.

You basically want the grav to hit at the same time as the tempest. Thats the whole key.

If you can manage to conect the tempest after a late hyper grav then it’s harder to mash because by the time the grav connects the tempest will already be comming out.

You all know the lk grav is slower than the hk grav right? (i hope so)
lk grav’s are defaultly harder to mash out of than hk gravs because of that, but they are also harder to connect because of range restrictions.

If you want to do unmashable tempest combos, find settups that you can combo the lk grav with.
The trick to making it unmashable is the distance between you and your target at the time of the cancel to tempest.

Yes. So the main things to worry about when trying to get it unmashable is spacing and speed of how you did hypergrav>tempest, the rest is random.

Those look program pad especially the fast fly ones. It’s like if you wave dash at the fastest possible speed you just stay in one spot and your character stays still and twitches… its pretty funny. Same thing with fly, you just move up back. Were the hypergrav mashes by hand?
