Ok. Tekken, eh? lol i am the tekken king (and i am wussy enough to declare it in an all capcom forum). well. i digress. don’t get too angry. think of the “mid-level” players as “your-level” players. treat them with respect, they play the game and practice it just like you. I learned this with tekken. there are some insane idiot button mashers using hwoarang, thinking they are sooo leet. you have to be patient, reverse them/parry them, etc. etc. Same with mvc2. mid level players that play will play and try to win. it’s the whole point. I hope all your other problems go answered. I don’t know WHAT the HELL you’re talking about lol probably b/c i’m a scrub, but there you are.

Whiff=doesn’t hit (it’s in the slide , if you just air dash , u won’t land , just hover there for a sec. u need to whiff the air dash). BTW you are so freacking lucky i don’t even make one repetition :depress:is like my magneto had an appoinment in the glue factory:fury:, cuz i make the lk,hk and he don’t super jump . What’s my mistake can enyone help me?
thankx in advance
I got a question here! I can do the ROM now all the time!!!
but On the Rom infinite is it better to do just one hit on the way up? Why?
P.S. thats simple if you do D+lk, D+FK, SJ and he dont SJ, its because you dont return the stick to neutral before that SJ.
For this infinite:
NORMAL JUMP INFINITES…
1.(normal characters - cyclops, mags, storm, etc.)
launch, sj.hk, addf, lk, lk, land, [jump.lp jd.lk j.lp]
I’ve having problems doing the magic part the second time around, since the other character always falls on the ground first. I was wondering if it’s because I’m doing the magic part a little too slow or maybe the two lks right after I dash? Someone please help me ^-^
Also, for the ROM infinite, how do you super jump so quickly, everytime I land and try to super jump, I end up doing a regular jump instead and whenever I do manage a super jump, it was way too slow… Would appreciate it if someone could give me a bit of timing tips.
Thanks for any help on clearing this up.
I usually get that from trying to Tiger Knee the motion myself. It works better (IMHO) to go from DB straight to UF, then just hold DF and dash.
On the normal jump inf… Try doing jump.lp.jd.lk.mk instead of that mp…I know that helped me when i was learnin’ it. also try having some kind of rythim when performing it, it should be medium fast. jump fast too after the magic series.
On the ROM a lot of it involves learning to bring the stick back to neutral and going from there…if you regular jump its cause you are not down the d,u motion, if you are doing it too slow…start by trying it of Psylock’s assist…Call out Psy.D+lk,D+mk, D+FK return stick to neutral then motion D,U (SJ) lk,mk pause airdash down lk pause mk… i cant stress enough how quickly you must hit lk after the airdash down…
Ok i think i understand it now, the one lk gets your opponent lower to the ground so that you can do more lk,mk reps…I kinda got this from doing…Launch Sj,lk airdashDF lk,mk, Sj lk.airdashDF lk,mk, SJ.lk,mk, blah blah blah…I might be wrong though
HOW THE FUCK do you play with ur ring finger?
my mains are my thumb, index, middle, and pinky… i use everything cept my ring, unless for the hk in rom setups
on question actually…
i’ve been feeling more comfortable doing rom like this…
hk throw ^, dash, clk, chk, [sj, lk, lk, adD, lk, lk, land]
i like to add, cuz when i go forwards i usually end up losing the combo when i land…
is there any advantages to going forwards? and if so, can u plz tell me what i can do to prevent from going forwards…
2.(big characters - juggs, sentinal, hulk, etc.)
launch, sj.hk, addf, lk, lk, land, [jump.lp, lk, lp, lk]
Do I repeat " [jump.lp, lk, lp, lk] ". Like I land after that and keep jumping and doing those? I am really new to infinitives. Also, How do I do triJump and what’s it good for? Also, on this youtube vid, what kind of infinite was sooMighty doing on Jwong’s Sentinel?
what you repeat is [j.LP, d+LK, LP, LK] there should be a short delay between each hit, and don’t press the first LP immediately, he should jump up some before the first LP.
in the middle of the vid, soo was doing [sj.LK, LK xx addf, d+LK, LK, land, j.LP, d+LK, LP, LK], repeat…
Lots of practice, But when you do it enough u can pull it off like nothing.
I’m thankful for this new recent Magneto thread, now I have a Ps2, use a ps2 controller, and it’s my first method of learning Mvc2 :D. After only 3 days I can pull of the ROM normal jump infinte, AA lock snap outs, and pretty okay tri-jumps. But i’m still a newbie because I don’t know how to tech roll lol…
Also, what’s the best method to play on mvc2 difficulty settings, because computer on max lvl is still pathetic…
Oh yes, and how to Rainbow ROM because it’s so flashy !
The Rainbow Infinite and the Rom Infinite are two completely different things.

^perhaps he means the sj.lk, adf lp, d+lk, mp, mk x n variations
Yeah you may be right about that. I consider variations of that kind to be Rom though.
