Peggy isn’t racist. You don’t have to be racist to react to something based on social cues that have been drilled into you for your entire life. You probably do have to be a racist not to recognize when your reaction is unacceptable, or to not care that it is.
Roger is racist as hell.
This has been a big part of Mad Men from day one for me.
Another good ep tonight. Megan got her shine on, and even though I don’t find her really attractive she looked good when she was at the Heinz’s dinner. It wasn’t until then that I realized that she was that same naked chick in Hot Tub Time Machine, only her breasts were significantly more robust. Hm…
Dirty Men
Spoiler
This season seems to want to emphasize Sally’s coming of age in adolescence. It’s funny but I think most kids get exposed to accidental sexual situations like that at some point or another. I thought they treated such a graphic scenario quite realistically for basic cable. Oh and it’s nice that the weird kid she likes doesn’t act like a future serial killer anymore.
Have I mentioned that this is the best show on TV? If not, I’m making this clear right now, there is no show on television now, or in the past that is better than Mad Men.
Such another brilliant episode. You have Sally showing her matiroty and her evolution, discarding teh safety and predictability of her life to discover the real world, while you have Megan growing in her own way professionally, and showing that indeed, she may be the right person for Don. I also like the conversation with her father which points to her changing for Don, but at the same time, it may be a discovery of her real self and the abandonment of her old self.
Let’s not forget Peggy’s awesome acting when she balanced the disapoitment of not being proposed to with the excitement that this man does in fact feel that way for her. The dichotomy of her progressive independent, 60’s self vs the influences of her strict mother. Brilliant writing.
I actually don’t find anything wrong with Megan’s teeth, I don’t like women who look cookie-cutter, and I hope the actress doesn’t feel pressured to get braces or some goofy ish.
But her fading tatas…

I still think Breaking Bad is best show ever, but at this level of "show"manship it’s like asking if you’d rather bang Salma Hayek or Sofia Vergara.
Megan probably still wants to be an actress/model, but with her growing success in the company, she probably feels like there’s no turning back, and that scares her.
Peggy probably feels disappointed because her self esteem issues makes her believe that marriage equates to true physical and emotional acceptance, which is wrong, but that’s her womanly feelings.
I still haven’t seen more than 3 epsiodes of Breaking Bad, which isn’t a comment on the quality of the show, just how many shows I currently have in my queue…It and Thrones is on the top of my need to watch list…
That’s what I love about Peggy. And I whose to say this one lead to marriage. I swear most couples who do move in seem to get married. Or do they? I dunno.
I like that they re-did their “This show contains graphic language and blah, blah, blah…” just after teh break before that scene…i was like “Oh shit, something is gonna happen…”
Breaking Bad is very good Angry, but it’s a different kind of good. It’s not quite apples and oranges, but like a grapple and an apple. Breaking Bad is more about two main figures and how they both evolve/deal with their move up the world of dealing drugs. There is a supporting cast and it’s very good, but the characters aren’t nearly as well fleshed out as Mad Men’s mainly because Bryan Cranston is all you need. (Well they are well fleshed out, but there aren’t nearly as many of them, and well, I just like the Mad Men cast better because they are BALLER)
I like Mad Men a bit more overall though. Mainly because each episode this season has been totally different. Breaking Bad really loves the whole “SURPRISE AT THE END OF TEH EPISODE!” thing it does so well and can kinda get formulaic (but not in anyway that takes away from the shows overall quality). Breaking Bad’s episodes also are very, whats the word, episodic I guess? Where in you really can’t just watch one episode because they flow from one to the other very tightly. There are no 1 year jumps like in Mad Men.
But anyway, this episode was great. I loved the scene at the end when everyone sat down after getting slam jammed on. I knew Megan’s mom was going to be hot after she was on the phone, also that she pushed Megan out of her vagina.
Pete schooling Megan’s dad, Roger getting his groove back, Don’s line about the book, Megan’s titties when she was at the table jiggling around, and Sally looking all Pretty Woman, oh snap good episode number 5 int he hizzie.
Ninja please. Robert Johnson was getting BJs while our meemaws and pop-pops were still soup in great-grandma’s crotch.
It’s good to know that AngryLiberal also posts about this show after he’s been drinking.
I can’t comment on Megan’s boobs, as I’d have to see them unleashed to comment accurately on how they compare to her boobs circa Hot Tub Time Machine. Hint hint, Jessica Pare’s agent.
Breaking Bad is an excellent show, but has not nearly the subtlety and intricacy of Mad Men. I say that as an unabashed diehard Breaking Bad fan.
One interesting point about James Bond: the character was largely unknown to Americans until JFK listed From Russia With Love among his favorite books. I don’t know if that’s significant or not, but it’s interesting that a buttoned-down guy like Don would have such a thing in common with America’s famous swingin’ liberal president.
