This episode felt like 3 little mini episodes and I liked all of them. I really enjoy how every episode feels like a different style of show this year.
Someone needs to make a video of Don chasing Megan and put it to yakkity sax already.
Holy fucking shit. That’s all I have to say. Mad Men is doing things even cinema hasn’t been able to do in a long time. Go back and rewatch this episode. Compare the things that are similar to these each story and how they play out. The lapses in time, the drug use, the revelations of relationships and how those execute. It’s an amazing piece of television and storytelling. Mad Men is television perfected.
Matthew Weiner is really gunning for that Emmy. He’s taking no prisoners.
Peggy gave a “Don-level pitch” but since she lacks testes and a penis, her results weren’t as spectacular. I almost felt like boycotting Heinz after watching that indecisive whiny imbecile complain about nothing.
The resolution between Roger and his soon-to-be-ex-wife is clearly to setup for the “predestined” pairing with Joan and his son, although the road to this event will be rather tumultuous and winding…
Too bad that Bryan Cranston is like the Michael Jordan to Jon Hamm’s Charles Barkley. Don Draper will never win an Emmy as long as Walter White’s around.

Too bad Don Draper is better than you at everything. I wonder if they are setting up a finale in which Peggy starts her own agency or something.
I also like how Don is sprinkling just a pinch of domestic abuse into his marriage, that keeps it fresh like it never was with Betty.
Mad Men is the best television there is, and I can’t even describe or sell the plot to anyone that doesn’t watch it already. “Yeah…it’s about like these rich white guys in the 60’s that cheat on their wives all the time and get drunk at work…? Also they are racists.”
There is no way this can’t win best drama for the fifth time. If this show doesn’t win again, it’s simply because the voters decided not to give it to them, because it is without a doubt, the best show on TV. It is a TV nerd’s dream of a show.
Also, I’d like to toss my hat in the Peggy is looking good this season ring. However, that being said, I know that the actress is a crazy scientologist…

I don’t know about racist. With Don at least, we’ve never seen any indication that he’s racist - and in fact, we’ve seen quite a lot that says the contrary

Peggy isn’t racist. She might have racially profiled that black secretary but she reneged and did the right thing in going to bed.
Nope, that look was all it took to reveal her cold, dark (or the opposite of dark in this case) racist heart. All that other stuff, inviting her over, drinking, laughing with her…all just an act. Because at the end of the night, the truth came out. At least the others are open about it. That makes her the worst.
Lane is the least racist of them all, he actually dated a black girl. Granted, she was probably a hooker, but still counts.
I don’t see Peggy’s act as racist. Peggy doesn’t make that much as a copy writer, probably less than her male subordinate, so I’m thinking she would have been wary of her money no matter what with a stranger. However, her purposeful not moving it was actually reverse racism because if it was a white person, I’m sure she would have felt more comfortable grabbing her purse. However, her lingering did make her appear racist.

last episode was awesome. and really every episode has been awesome, especially lane delivering the beatdown to that cocksucker, pete…made even better when he broke down crying on the episode.
Don is not racist, based on what I’ve seen in the 5 seasons of the show; in fact, with his upbringing he probably can identify with most *negroes *of his era. I think Don sees the world filled with people who have varying motivations, and can identify with individuals based on understanding their personal motives. It’s why he told Peggy she could find a way living with giving away her child and start life anew, or why he imparted knowledge with Peter about his indiscretions and juxtaposed his failed marriage with him.
It’s really the people around Don that mentally go with the zeitgeist.
Roger is racist because his impartiality, hatred or amusement with various races stems from his ego and narcissism, part of which is due to his whiteness. Pete’s the same way, except he has personal insecurities which overshadow that fact. Roger’s far too superficial in personality to let such inner turmoil resonate, for now…

Peggy isn’t racist, I don’t think she believes Dawn is lesser than her due to her “blackness”, she’s just prejudicial to a racially irrational but socially rational extent. She obviously lacks a measure of social experience with Megan’s race, but still identifies her a woman, and a human being. Much different from racists who deem a race as a caricature which embodies an individual who is unlike themselves.
