i talked to josh about that and since thats usually the day they have the smash weeklys, i think alot of the smash kids will be there and might be using a setup. as far as making it an official event, i think they are afraid too many people are gonna show up already, thus the sf4 and marvel caps.

smash might end up being ran but the smash kids will prolly organize that themselves (kinda as a side tourny)

if all you smash dudes show up, sign up for some other games

ps. - does everyone agree with those characters being banned if a LT style marvel tourny goes down? anyone on that list that shouldnt be?

I want in on the Low tier Marvel as well. So does Rodactyl (regular marvel and low tier) and WanchorX.

First off let me start by saying this tournament was organized by DJ himself and is being ran with everything from the last tournament taken into consideration. As for the XBOX thing, that wont be an issue this time, its strictly what has been advertised. SF4, HDRemix, and Marvel is on PS3. If both players agree to go and play their specific tournament match on the XBOX then so be it, but if there is any sort of disagreement, its going straight to the PS3 no questions asked.

There is a full schedule up at S2D right now and all the games will be starting ON TIME. As for the XBOX issues, we all know the XBOX is always a big hassle when switching controllers, or switching anything for that matter. This is being ran as a PS3 tournament and the buttons have to be set before the match. Both players can do a button check before the match starts and then reset. If you start the match and start playing for more than 5 seconds or so and your buttons are wrong you have 2 options.

  1. Forfeit the match and change your buttons
  2. Play with your buttons wrong and fix them before the next match.

NO EXCEPTIONS, this will not be an issue this time, trust me.

The rules might not have been enforced on the 6/13 tournament but they will be this time.

This is S2D’s second major tournament, they took all the input from the last tourny, talked to the players, and accepted all advice. Its shaping up to be the biggest and best major Louisville has seen thus far.

They have a binder up at S2D that DJ whipped up, and it includes a full rules set that is comp standard, a full schedule with specific times for each game, proper sign up sheets and the whole 9 yards.

I hope you decide to come out and give S2D another shot.

UPDATE

There is going to be a special prize for 1st and 2nd place in Street fighter 4!!

And its becoming very apparent that SRK isnt going to sticky this tournament, that will be kept in mind when promoting future events. There is enough obstacles and problems when running a tournament without having to worry about your event being ignored. This wont be a problem next time, we will have our listing elsewhere.

Alright everyone, tomorrow is the day!

Be there around 1:30 for sign ups, SF4 will be the first scheduled game and starts at 2pm. If you aint there when we make the bracket, you aint in the bracket period.

Just to make this clear now, time will be tight and we wont be missing other games because of SF4. If your name is called for a tournament match, unless your in another tournament match or money match, get off what ever your doing and get to the setup asap or you WILL BE DQ’d from SF4. If someone is outside/in the bathroom/ on the phone or whatever, we will skip you once, after that, when your name is called and you aint around, your DQ’d automatically.

SETTING UP BUTTONS

This is what takes up the most time. When you approach the setup, you need to hit ** REMATCH ** and set your buttons, and then go to ** CHARACTER CHANGE **. I will personally put my nuts in your face if your taking all day to set your buttons and shit. Taking too long to set your controller number and all that is what is going to drag this out so make sure your doing this right.

You’ll have to take me out of anything that happens before 3:30pm. I found out I HAVE to go into work tomorrow and I don’t have a choice. I’ll still be there after 3pm to try to make anything happening after 3. Also, Rodactyl and WanchorX can’t make it at all.
