I tried to compare to EX Devil from Beta 1 by eye. No counting.
Looks faster indeed.

LOOKS like Captain BIRDSEYE…lol, not sure if I like it tbh :o

I think it’s based on the nazi hat.

But…

^ Hahahaha… Epic !

I will never get that image out of my head now lol,… might change my Capcom ID to Cpt. Birdseye =)

He actually looks some kind of necromancing evil sailor.

Why is no one talking about CC HKD Sweep being made into a universal mechanic? OTG Headstomp every day!!!

Do you actually recover fast enough for that? Headstomp is kind of slow

Let’s imagine it does until proven otherwise. We deserve to be happy.

Maybe if you hit with just the tip?

You can probably check in the infinite beta, just set the dummy to not tech

In the infinite beta, it didn’t.
In SF4, Counter Hit Hard Knockdown lasted longer.
So…
maybe CC Sweep has longer "hitstun"
Maybe it has been tweaked.

We have to wait.

Wow…

So low

And? Bison’s gameplay isn’t for everyone. Plus, eventhub users have no taste.

Better that way, on beta 2 i jumped on like 2 Bison players only.

I’ve never liked popular choices so i’m totally fine with it, plus the other character i want to play (Balrog) is the least popular it seems.

Interestingly the charge characters are the least liked overall and only the hybrid ones are more popular.

Seeing that you’ve played the Beta / Beta(s)
What do you think about Dic so far?

My 2 cents:
His design is very strange. Unlike other characters, who have a clear plan (Nash = hit and run/zoning, Birdie = poke with normals, Karin = mixups into oki, etc.) Dictator doesn’t have a singular plan, outside of comboing into v-trigger and then going nuts.
His normals are good, but his mobility isn’t good enough to play traditional poke/counter poke footsies. He cannot move forward while applying pressure and stay relatively safe, so he cannot rely on block string pressure any more than other characters can. His immobility and lack of far normals mean that zoning isn’t the primarly plan either.

I’m not a tournament player, so I don’t know whether this design works or not, but in my current online warrior experience, his toolset seems to lack identity…until you activate v-trigger and go nuts. This in itself is very weird, since most characters use their v-trigger to enhance their gameplan, whereas imo dictator’s gameplan doesn’t start until he has v-trigger.

Yo what’s up man i saw your matches against Inferno Kong in Beta 1, you got that jump back fierce habit for getting out from ST hehe.

I played the Beta 2 a bit and with some friends offline the cracked one, so far like @gig4ls said he’s a strange character at least from my ST background. My biggest complain is his walkspeed and his headpress tracking.

I’m not sure how he will turn out at high level, maybe some sort of pressure and counter character with his v-skill. It seems like Capcom really want Dic players to use his v-trigger, nerfing his normal state and buffing his v-trigger one.

@gig4ls
The reason why i asked Kyouya about Dic is because he’s a really good ST player and he mained Dic like i did. Glad to have others chip in doe !
I agree with pretty much everything you say. Especially the “singular plan” and “toolset” and “lack of identity” parts.

I remember when i played the first Beta… I was having a absolute BLAST. Also remember saying something like “damn SON ! I am NOT used to Dic feeling like a high-tier char”.
Beta 2 made me way less excited for obvious reasons.

Ultimately the final version of the game will decide wether i stick with dictator or not.
I feel like if Beta 2 dictator is gonna be the “final” dictator i might aswell start fresh and try to learn how to play Ryu , etc.
But… if he keeps the damage output he had in Beta 1 along with that good cr.HP anti-air and the OG psycho blast , i will def stay Dic

edit : ah @Kyouya yeah lol. That guy was really good too !

Was gonna say , honestly , the only time i’ve used V-trigger is to catch people offguard with that “teleporting” Devil’s reverse.
I can’t tell you how many matches i’ve clutched out by using V-trigger DR :flushed:

@ExposedD
On a side note, this last mini test i played a 30ish ranked Ryu from Sweden, and the connection was great, i was really surprised. I got really good connections with Japan, France and Sweden, and really bad ones with Argentina and Brazil.

If Capcom keeps working on the netcode, SFV could be something big.

Ah , yes! Swedish internet is pretty fantastic though  That could be part of it.
Besides… Here in sweden we have Dreamhack which is like the biggest e-sports event in europe (i think?!)
and they’ve hosted SF4 tourneys every year since its release.

So atleast for me… If i enjoy the game and become good at it , i do have the option to participate in tournaments.
Pretty sure SFV is gonna be huge over here considering how SF4 ( ) has a big following here already with tourneys allover the place.
