Guess he feels ready to take a tournament.

Finally

Apparently I can beat Arthuro Sanchez in a set but I will be completely free to a Laura with my own rank.

This game…

Match ups and tiers are real, the sad truth of FGs.

My G the fact you can get/a win a set with a great player damn respect.

What are your strats for the Dhalsim match up? I dont come across many online, and I dont think I think outside of the box enough to play it the way Bison should.

@Thunda I still have a bunch of things to figure out but during this last week I’ve got the chance to play around 50 games with Snafoo. He gave me some tips and what really helped me in a broader sense is to not be in hurry to get in. You can’t let yourself be annoyed by his limbs and try to jump over them or you’ll get anti-aired. At full screen, Dhalsim can’t do shit to you. So retreating back to gather your thoughts and form a game plan is always preferable to trying to force a close range battle with jump ins and dashes and getting punished for it. If you feel you’re getting poked to death, take a breather at the back of the stage.

The biggest thing in Sim’s offense is the drill. A well spaced drill is significantly plus on block and allows him to mix you up. You have to stop them. You can jab in front of the drill, not on the actual tip of his feet, to anti-air him. I’ve also used sMK a few times to beat drills.

When Sim’s using his vskill to bait you into doing something, don’t. Wait for him to teleport and immediately jump back into hell attack to beat a forward teleport. If he teleported back you don’t lose anything doing that. Also regarding Sim’s vskill, if Sim tries to do a HP attack when he’s getting close you can vskill absorb it. I’ve tried doing that against Arturo but I fucked up a few times, his timing was different than I expected. Still, it’s an option.

You can use Blast to beat his limbs or just use a good normal like crMP to whiff punish them if you can space yourself correctly for that. I also usually do a LP Blast after a blockstring ending in HP Blast to catch limbs since the HP Blast’s pushback leaves him too far to do anything else than a limb. Snafoo caught on to that and started waiting to whiff punish my LP Blast but he told me that was a really good strategy.

If Sim wakes up a lot with teleport to escape your pressure, you can punish with slide.

And finally, I try to not tech too much against Dhalsim because a lot of good players will trap you with Gale setups.

That’s what I got for now. Against scrub Dhalsims it’s not the same meta, you have to shut down their shenanigans that only work online.

You can see my match vs Arturo here but I think I played badly.

edit : oh yeah I forgot to mention, EX Blast isn’t working too well on Sim he can just slide under or vskill over it and teleport if needed. Be careful with that.

Thanks, LoupGris.

@Zeniside LOL Everything your Rashid does to me online is plus 600 frames apparently. At times I tried jumping, ex headstomping, v reversal, you name it…I’d just sit there blocking. Made me look like my defense was godlike rofl!

I just like doing WWS shit over and over. lol

@LoupGris Tampa Bison and TS-sabin do a long set, check the replays for Feb 5. F-champ says the matchup is slighty in Bison’s favor…I guess Arturo need to work on the match up…It looked very slanted.

It sure does match us against each other a lot right now.

Yeah, the matchmaking system in this game is freakin’ weird. I’ve only played 2 other matches that weren’t with you, this entire morning…As if me and you are basically the only ones playing in casual match. lol

Good job @LoupGris

When´s the day we can do this damage without VT:

My god that’s a crazy amount of damage!! Things like this is what keeps him out of the top 5, he has to be half dead, active VTrigger and have two Ex meters. People do not like it when I say it but its design is bad clear and simple; He is the slowest character, has so many problems to get in and to open his opponents, therefore should have the highest damage in the game; Inferno should naturally combo into EX Scissors to full animation and damage.

his Vtrigger should do something else, give him invincibility to all his specials or that having 1 EXmeter gives you two EX special.

He has to fight so hard to do what others do much easier.

Random moment from a tournament we had this weekend: [details=Spoiler]

I’ve played a lot of balrog back in season 1 his damage output has always been high. What makes him so deadly this season is his buttons… almost everything he presses is a crush counter now. S.Hp is really good… he also has some of the best AA in the game… can’t really say the same for bison…

I was in training mode, practicing anti v reversal stuff and found something weird. You can forward dash to avoid Ken’s v reversal after a jump in. The earlier the v reversal is input, the harder this is to pull off, but light and medium attack jumpins make it a tiny bit easier to do(I think because of less hitstop frames). The really weird part, which I think is a bug, is that you can catch the recovery of the vreversal with st.mp…but you cant combo st.mp-cr.mp. It isnt the case that you’re too far away, because the cpu blocks the cr.mp every time…even in the corner. You can always combo cr.mp-st.lk or target combo though.

A similar set up can be done with a simple st.lp-dash but it only works if the v-reversal wasnt done as early as possible.
Maybe you guys already knew about the setups, but this is the first time that I’m noticing a st.mp-cr.mp link not working when it should.

Both Haku and Galtu made it to topanga? Sweeet.

The increasing anount of Laura, both online and offline tournaments starts to piss me off.
