At this point as long as they add 4 or more new characters I’ll be happy. Strider should be a shoe-in at this point. As for the Marvel side it could go almost any way. Cyclops or Rogue would be nice to see again, if I had to be a fanboy I’d want to ride that Spiral train again though. She could get some serious lock down going on in this game given they don’t shit all over her move set.
I have a feeling though, whatever announcement they have for SDCC is going to be really lackluster.

I don’t know how I’d feel about this. On the positive side, it’s freakin’ Darkstalkers 4. On the flip side, Niitsuma or Ono would be directing it. Hmm.

So I just want to ask, because Niitsuma is going to be there, everyone is saying it’s a huge sign that a re-release of Marvel 3 is close. Is that wishful thinking? Niitsuma wouldn’t just come for an announcement of a couple DLC characters and costumes?
Or dare I dream… Darkstalkers 4! But seriously, why is it so obvious this is Hyper Marvel 3 or whatever?
I’m really not even concerned about new characters or who will get in and who won’t. And honestly, I think many people won’t be too-too disappointed with whomever Capcom chooses. The only news for this “new” version that has me biting my nails are the gameplay changes/fixes.

If there were a Darkstalkers 4, it’d probably be similar to MVC3 or SFIV. Using Morrigan, Hsien Ko, and Felicia, it can serve as a template for how the game may look and play.
I wonder if there were more Darkstalkers fans in the past, and it just lost major popularity due to the popularity of Street Fighter.
couldn’t agree more, I have a feeling capcom is going to focus on too much nerfing and not enough buffing. I’m going to be pissed if Tron Fire goes away, will be a game changer for my team. Whatever, it will be worth it when they do something to X-Factor, they have to do something. Probably will do something to TAC too.
Also, feeling the Lupinko rumors are going to start flying around again, I’d expect more detail from him soon.
I know it’s a tangent, but I’d really hope it’d be more TvC Marvelish than SFish, i.e. more combo based and aggressive, less about zoning and footsies, blocking and defensive. Honestly though, we probably won’t even hear about DS4 till 2012 at the earliest, a man can dream though.
Imagine capcom goes all out and brings in 10 new characters lol.

Darkstalkers was always a face paced and aggressive game. It’s not the type of game to turtle in.

I actually picked up the Mega Man X collection last week and have started going through it (Just finished X and about to get into X2). Way to ruin some of the bosses for me 
I’m having a hard time figuring out how Layton could appear in this game.
His only connection to Capcom is a Wright/Layton crossover that’s only coming out in Japan and hasn’t even been released yet.
