Not saying that I buy into this, but if they did it, I’d actually like it if they basically remade UMvC3 with Capcom only characters and changes. Same gameplay, remove X-Factor/maybe TACs/add new mechanics to keep it interesting. Keep the entire UMvC3 Capcom side roster and just go nuts with the other characters since they have a base for the game. Add 20-30 new characters in addition to all the Capcom ones that were in UMvC3.
Unrealistic as hell but that would be the ideal situation for me.

Keeping (and tweaking) all (or most of) of the existing Capcom cast is a bad idea (and ofc Capcom is shameless enough to do that)
Even if in theory the Marvel side is replaced with Capcom characters you already have quite a big roster.
