Lucky Strike in Bellevue opening up an arcade section in September

I can’t give any guarantees but I have a feeling that the dress code is there to basically be an excuse to kick certain ugly/random/disgusting people out if they need to. I know for a fact that the manager isn’t a bellevue yuppie himself, we met him through a family friend, and he was also a family friend of theirs and this family lives in olympia which isn’t anywhere close to annoying-rich-people. I mean they aren’t nazis about it or anything, and i mean if it becomes a regular place to play you’ll get to know the people there and it won’t even be an issue. I think by no sports jerseys they are just trying to make sure no one comes in wearing just a sports jersey i.e. they wanna see a t-shirt at least (btw from my perspective i think wife beater would be marked as a sleeveless shirt and not allowed). Also headgear i believe means like those fuckin’ whole face uber braces and not hats/glasses etc, and i don’t even know what the fuck construction boots being on there is supposed to mean. haha

either way, to my knowledge i don’t remember seeing anyone who would’ve been breaking this dress code (enough to get kicked out) at the gatherings i’ve been to. i think i would have noticed if i did see since i’ll admit, i am probably still part bellevue/issaquah yuppie myself. even if there are people who by the way they regularly dress wouldn’t fit in, I would say its just a small price to deal with when we have some great possibilities here for us. I mean hey you’re wearing a wife beater so what, just grab an extra t-shirt that isn’t 100% white and you’re good to go. if you’ve got pants down to your thighs then just pull them up and keep your hand in your pocket to keep them up and hide the fact that they’re baggy then once you sit down no one will even notice. i don’t want to offend anyone but i don’t think this dress code is asking for very much at all.

What are you even talking about?

Buying a SF4 cab seems like a bad business decision. The initial rush is over now that it’s out on consoles, and the arcade version is short a few characters. Also, Dash is undoubtedly on the way, so it’s going to be even more out of date in no time.

I’d appreciate the thought, but I really don’t think it’s a good idea.

idk, I’d go if they get some cabs, but that dress code is WAY past ridiculous. Plain white T-shirts?? That and athletic gear I think are the most ridiculous…it’s just a bar and bowling alley, I think they take themselves way too seriously as far as that goes, and they’re just losing themselves good business. I believe in washington businesses have the right to refuse service to whoever they want, don’t they? If someone is actually being ‘disgusting’ or ugly/random (?) they could just ask them to leave. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out who their trying to keep out with that dress code…

this is pretty much the story of “high class” inherited-wealth snobs that this area has a lot of. the manager of this place isn’t one of them though, and if you go and he knows you and that you’re cool and creating a good time he isn’t gonna even notice that you’re wearing a shirt and a seahawks/sounders/etc jersey.

and if you know this place/area, there’s a lot of money, and having to pay for an sf4 cab over the next time crisis or whatever isn’t going to bother them.

Except I grew up around that area- I’ve seen a lot of businesses that take themselves too seriously or try and act high class or whatever, but still very few that have THAT crazy of a dress code, especially for just being a bowling alley, haha. That movie theater is pretty swank, and they don’t have any weird dress code. Plenty of nice restaurants in the area, and while I’m sure you can’t get too sloppy, they aren’t really that strict (they’d never stop you from wearing a white T shirt). I get that the general tone is just the way bellevue is, but that dress code is just over the top, even for Bellevue.

I don’t doubt that the manager is a nice, and probably reasonable guy- I don’t know him and you do, so I wouldn’t argue that. Dress code just doesn’t make sense to me.

The dress code seems to be a franchise rule, so it may not even matter how tyhe owner feels about it. If you look on the site, there are two pictures where the Bartender and a bowler are wearing wife beaters.

The owner can be the coolest guy on earth but if there are other customers that complain about people not following the dress code then it’s bye bye franchise.

With the way arcade economics are for operater/owners it’s too late to get SF4 or even T6 now. Most owner/operators hope that they can make back their investment by the time the console version of the game comes out. I would recommend to get SF4 Dash (if it is coming.) when it’s released. Yes it’ll be expensive, but it’ll be their best chance to break even, even if they do charge $2/game.

If they do expect customer to dress up then they better buy the complete viewlix cab for it. No ghetto cab, or even a used candy cab. It’s ridiculous to think that they would require people to dress up to play on a ugly arcade cab.

I’m just perplexed by a dress code at a bowling alley.

I will be the guy wearing a Pink wife beater and short shorts.

What are MC colors?

motorcycle colors apparently. check first page.

I see.

Hey is your username based on the band? If so I want to smooch you. Or something not gay works too.

wow, this thread just took an uncomfortable turn, haha… mod…close please?

Sorry to let you down, but my username (if it was me you were asking) comes from an inside joke with someone I used to work with. I really have no idea why I chose it, it was just in my head at the time so here I am.

I guess I’m lucky I got saved from getting internet kissed though.

…on second thought. If they get a TvC machine I would think about going there more.

Hahah, sorry I didn’t mean to shit on the thread, I just ran out of things to add and had to ask. I’d play anywhere depending on if there’s a game I want to play or not. I used to drive to lanwerx in bellevue and woodinville all the way from north everett. It’s all about selection.

The dress codes at The Parlor and at Lucky Strike sound a lot more strict than they are. You basically just have to look clean, it’s not all that hardcore.

I won?t be getting dressed up to impress your family dear,
And if I can?t wear jeans and sneakers then
I won?t be lamping there
Nope

I guess we should all wear wifebeaters when we go

you can wear jeans and sneakers haha. they didn’t go THAT far. but pretty damn close.

Yeah, I go to the Parlor now and then, I just wear some clean, and slightly hip sneakers, a pair of decent jeans and I just throw a polo on. No problem!
