Nice tutorial man. The “jump” doesnt bother me at all. And i believe there are acouple of ways to make a shaft cover for a ls32.
Good stuff, always good to see a tutorial for seimitsu users.
Haha, yeah, I chose Seimitsu since I wanted the tighter feel as well. Also since the build quality of Seimitsu’s sticks is, in my opinion, much better than those of Sanwa’s joysticks.
Yeah, the bearing jump issue didn’t bother me either since I handle my joysticks quite hard and usually jam it into the gate with enough force to prevent any jump at all. It’s true that it isn’t that difficult to make an LS-32 shaft cover, but as much as I liked the thick shaft of the LS-32, having an extra few millimeters of diameter would make it feel rather bulky in my opinion. Oh well.
Thanks for the comments guys! Be sure to post here so I can hear your opinions on this mod.
sup peeps i was wondering if yall seen/have a the link that someone posted on srk about different ways 2 mod a sanwa with seimitsu/happ?
Very cool mod, i have a question though.
What are the main differences between this LS-36 and the LS-40?
He already posted that?
36 has longer throw, is slightly looser than 40.
Could you still use the blue LS-32-01 sub-guide instead of the LS-40 yellow sub-guide if you want a more square-feel, or does having either one of them installed into this mod give it that semi-circular feeling that you described?
bout 2 try this joint out…i just want 2 add shaft cover but now this helps the pevot issue. YA SA!
You could use the original LS-32 sub-guide if you wished. Either way, you’d have a semi-circular feel on the stick until you broke it in after a few sessions of use even if you removed the sub-guide entirely. However, once the levered microswitches break in, you can get the square feeling just fine when you remove the sub-guide.
Oh boy, now I’m worried; jdm714, did you find something wrong here?
Nothing wrong.
Laugh.
Phoenix Reborn just ask if can use the blue LS-32(-01) Sub Guide instead of Yellow LS-40(-01) Sub Guide.
I bold your Post saying that can use Yellow instead of Blue.
So means Phoenix Reborn can use Blue instead of Yellow.
So I’m just saying what you just typed.
Yeah, this’ll help both of your problems PSYCHO-POWUAH. I’m glad you’re gonna go and try this mod. Be sure to post when you do the mod to let us know what you think of it!
Oh, haha! Thanks for that jdm714. I thought I messed up something for a moment in my guide.
Awesome. That answers my question. Thanks for the help. I’m looking forward to giving this a shot soon!
Yo ppl’s i got my joints from lizardlick today. So disassembled LS40 & put the new shaft, shaft cover etc. i use the ls 40 pcb/micro switches cuz they r the same. started playin & i got so im very impressed. No more pivot just smooth.
when you do this mod is the stick at proper height? I use an LS-32 with SS mounting plate, would I have to change the mounting plate to make it sit at the correct height?
Keep the Seimitsu SS Mounting Plate.
Nice! Good to hear that you’re enjoying this mod P_$m0n3$-Y. Do keep us posted with any problems or additional details you’d like to offer! :bgrin:
Digital-, jdm714’s got you covered here!
Yep, it mounts exactly like an LS-40 or LS-32 would with the SS Mounting Plate just like he said. Anything an LS-32 can go into, an LS-36 can go into be it a custom, retail stick, whatever.
Thanks for the info JDM & Ikagi-Chan
I’ve got to personally thank Ikagi-chan as a content customer. The LS-36 mod was one of the best things to happen to my stick. I used to have a standard TE and after a few mod’s, it became multi-console. Now clearly that was REALLY useful, but did little to motivate me to practice or get serious about fighting games. Really, I had tried out Seimitsu sticks before and while I felt them a little nicer than the Sanwa JLF I had installed upon arrival, it was simply a frill I may get replaced sometime but nothing special. But then I felt the LS-36, got it installed, and even though I’ve been having a ton of extra work pile up everywhere, I still now make time for fighting games. The LS-36 was what pushed me to start really caring about the genre. It’s short range, amazing sensitivity, and overall emotion have changed the way I play fighting games. So thank you, as a satisfied customer, for this amazing mod.
Nice topic - thanks!
Will definitely be trying this one out…
Tried this mod today. It feels pretty good, the engage and throw is nice, but I really hate the circular feel. I tried leaving the sub-guide off but it still feels like having a circle gate. My motions are for the most part accurate but as of right now I prefer the JLF to this. Anyway to get it feeling more like a square?
