Idk about most badass but i definitely find them the most appealing. Like even the characters i don’t like would be main material in other games. The designs are edgy and weeby in a 90’s kung fu movie way instead of the modern anime way. I also don’t like goofy characters.
Like in terms of characters i really like it’d be like
MK>SF>GG>SG>SC
Because pad feels uncomfortable as shit and I don’t wanna take the time to get used to it. I want the freedom of movement without the callouses that come with learning a new way to play.
All of the army characters are bland as fuck. Like in a game full of sorcerers, cyborgs, teleporters, gods, monsters, etc you…shoot guns and punch people? It could work if the contrast was shown to be funny but its 100% serious and its so dry. At least Johnny can be funny.
Like I’d take Cammy or Guile over any of them though. They’re “army” but they still do cool shit.
If I had to choose favorite designs, it may probably be Killer Instinct. They just took every cliche in the book and ran with it. It’s great when you can say the ghost from Grudge was duplexes by Conan.
She doesn’t really have great tools to play what I would consider to be a traditional keep away game, even with how it works in SFV. Heart Raid is a shitty fireball substitute and she doesn’t have a DP to cover jumps with authority (her AAs are really good but it isn’t the same as Sagat, Ryu, or Guile setting you up).
If you look at her frame data she is littered with moves that leave her at +2 and good range, and she can weather people down with chip pretty well. Also has great oki thanks to cr.MP being a crazy active button and her AAs are really good for covering jumps that commonly come out of neutral situations in this game.
The most successful Poison matches I’ve seen are ones where she focuses more on establishing her +2 situations, taking the chip where she can, and going in a lot more than staying back.
I’ve been playing her decently close to how I played Kolin in terms of approach and that has been working much better than the few matches where I tried to keep people out for the majority of the game.
