lol OP just asked if sanwa did custom orders, you don’t need to jump on his nuts.

First, it seems you are only one who is ignorant and lack reading comprehension because if you knew anything about just sanding plastic it doesn’t come close to what I am describing. Way to come off like a total tool.

On the other hand moonchilde made an interesting suggestion, that actually makes sense to what I am looking for. Also if the aluminum balls have some sort of texture to them I would most likely give it a try.

lastly, I wouldn’t mind buying a gross or two from a special order if that what it takes, it’s not like I cant sell them right? Because the internet completely hinders the possibility of me doing that right, fuck off internet attention whores who need to pad their post count.

p.s. if anyone knows any plastic/toy(doesnt have to be sanwa or any of the other arcade manufacturers) manufacturers that would do something like this please inform me!

1 Gross or 12 Dozen or 144 is not enough. We are talking a custom order of THOUSANDS, more on the lines of 10,000 Ball tops must be ordered.
You got enough Cash to finance 10,000 custom ball tops? And that assuming they will even listen to you.

Also

Yeah about that. Good luck getting a answer out of folks again.

You’re so narrow minded, it doesn’t have to be sanwa or a major manufacturer. Stop padding your post cost.

You speak for the entire forum and community right? You’ll be doing me a favor by you and others like you to never answer or make a post.
Like that will ever happen “must increase post count, derp” Go find another thread to spam/pad your count.

No one said it would be impossible to get a manufacturer to make exactly what you want.
@Darksakul was warning you of the lengths you’d have to go to to get a well respected arcade part manufacturer such as sanwa to produce an order for you.

Insulting other users when they are simply trying to provide you with help serves no purpose other than to create hostility which is not what anyone wants.

I wish you the best of luck in getting what you want, but you would do well to recognise when people are trying to help you rather than pad out their post count.

Enough with these off topic posts, please. If you are gonna make these type of moral compass post’s you should really read the entire thread and you will clearly see I was being insulted and patronized just because I disagreed with certain suggestions, wanted to order custom parts and seem more interested in buying a custom part rather than making something of my own. I think a lot failed to realize what I was asking for and in the end, me trying to produce this on my own will most likely cost a lot more then me buying the parts from a custom shop or if this existed from a store.

Hell yea I speak for everyone. If you looked, I don’t need to pad my post count, I authored a few of the guides here. Also if you haven’t acted like a idiot. You might have noticed I did drop the names of 2 users who makes their own ball tops. I even asked one if it’s possible for him to make. Plus we got more than a few members here with some industry contacts.

The attitude came out really quickly. This forum is not NASIOC or RX8CLUB.COM, tech talk is full of extremely knowledgeable members, extremely helpful. I actually know some small batch vendors that would probably do this for you, but I’m disinclined to assist you because you started with the insult hurling.

yikes, I feel like an idiot batting for turtlesoup now.

(its 2014, no one gives a shit about post counts.)

its okay @ihopeidie, you did what you though was right by sticking up for someone who you felt was being picked on.

Dude asks if Sanwa do special orders. Gets pissy when the question is answered and followed up. Ironically rants about ‘internet attention whores’. I feel trolled.

The bat tops, not the ball tops. I can confirm the bat tops are slightly textured and matte. The ball tops, I am not sure, and I don’t think they are textured. This particular brand sold by Focus Attack and Paradise Arcade (the same exact product, but Paradise also has other aluminum products which are not to be confused with) are Sanwa bat top “knock offs” in aluminum. Same shape, same texture.

Just so there is no misinformation nor anywhere to point blame, can someone confirm the ball tops for me please?

I wonder how well existing ball tops take to sand blasting.
or sand and paint with a matte finish.

I know a wood or derlin ball top can be made on a lathe

There also the prospect of 3D printing

Matte Paint would work for the balltop I think. Better than just sanding. 3D printing some button plungers would be awesome… DAMN now I want a 3D printer even more than before.

You’d still have to sand the ball top for the matte paint or clear coat to stick anyway.

Get a thin matte film you can stick to the surface.

http://m.globalsources.com/gsol/I/PVC-film/p/sm/1057680130.htm

Or a thin malleable mesh you could wrap the ball in.

Think outside the box. Look for textured films. might even be able to get se sick unique buttons depending on the extent of your search. Either of those things could work to achieve the effect.

I am impressed with the amount of sweat you generate playing with your stick. Clearly I’m doing it wrong.

Hey who has a sand blaster or have access to one?
Sand blast some ball tops for us and see how it works.

I hope that would work better than my efforts of using vinyl dye on a Sanwa bat top. Sanded the bat top. 3-4 layers (I forget) of vinyl dye. Final coat of acrylic lacquer. 2 months of regular use before my acidic sweat has caused the paint to begin flaking off. -_-

Wait why are we continuing the discussion if the OP was a complete dick to everyone?

Let that ass-hat figure the shit out on their own.

Disassemble a couple shik quartos. Embed them in the buttons. Textured. Blood clots will eventually sediment into a nice matte finish
