Looking for Love: Ibuki General Discussion Thread

Sounds like something I would do against impatient Ibukis.

You just have to learn more patient. If you really want to straight up rushdown for whatever reason, you can try testing your opponent’s reactions/ability to keep you out. Things like neutral jump, or super jump kunai, or super jump (cross up) LK. Or walk back and forth midrange then suddenly dash. Or do the same thing but this time stick out cr.MP or sweep to punish random jabs. Or get to max FA range and start spamming it; sometimes releasing it, sometimes not, sometimes cancelling it into forward/backdash etc.

i should try that. basicly this is my problem: http://twitch.tv/rean2000/b/297948574
too much sweep TC
too much dropped stuff
lack of execution
lame jump ins.
duh.

You mean autopilot because you just wanna get fast wins, otherwise you rage kick lol.

nono, i palyed against this guy till he left after 13wins or so.
when i lose because i am outplayed i dont RQ.
he wasnt turtling that much, like, i won single rounds but couldnt win two of them.

Rage quit isn’t the same thing as rage kick. You just said you kick people because they play charge characters.

i kick people who crouch block 24/7, be it charge or not.

Don’t worry Rean, I know exactly what you’re talking about. When I started with Kendo, I didn’t like the “experienced” people who only wanted to counter anything I did. There was a lot of “resets” as you would say.

Over time, as I got better, I started to notice that I wasn’t fighting Kendo, I was fighting my opponent. My opponent wasn’t supposed to do anything. I started SF around the time I got better, and what I had learnt from SF was to wait for as long as I could. Now in Kendo, I try to make as much time not actually fighting so I can come up with a strategy, and it helps me win.

Now for Fencing lol, I rush everyone down. Similar to using Makoto in 3S, if they’re defending, I take space, and I gain the advantage with momentum. You can take this approach with SF too.

One of my training regimes I give to people after they’ve learnt the basics, is test their offense. I stay there, and see how long I can block, and we switch sides. The idea is that without the fear of being counter-poked/ect. it should be very easy to do something that the other player can’t react to. Mixing up overheads, frame-traps, and throws. You also get to better your defense too.

BTW, about Vega, against command back dash spammers, looks like if you time a neckbreaker correctly you can punish it. I’m not 100% sure but I have a friend who plays Vega and I could do this one many times when I played with him today, I don’t think he is stupid enough to continue not to block… I’ll have to get that tested

Oh, another thing: please don’t be stupid like me, and don’t use cr.MK against Gief. I played a pretty good gief today (12 000 BP or so), and he kept punishing my cr.MK pokes by a 360° grab. I’m still wondering if he was just good at mind game or if he had supersonic reaction time. (or maybe he was just mashing :stuck_out_tongue: ).

Izuna, Kendo is probably the best real life example to give for Street Fighter mind game, nice one. I used to do thai boxing and my best weapon out there was… MK poking, works kinda well IRL ^^

I don’t think any one single option select will cover all 3 of Claw’s options (backdash, PPP, KKK). The closest you can do is jab neckbreaker and then reaction punish if he does PPP but I dunno if it’ll catch KKK. Anyways, as long as you’re option selecting something and punishing as hard as possible, spamming escape options will not work out for Claw in the long run.

cr.MK is fine vs Gief, though I’m not sure why you would ever want/need to use it. lol 12000 bp. Where was that thread about PP/BP not meaning anything? I’m guessing the Gief you played simply walked up to max jab spd range or slightly outside it to catch anything you throw out. Can’t really say for sure without video footage.

I got 5k PP and don’t even play Ranked, you guys jealous?

I still do not understand how the hell you guys have the patience to grind that long. Seriously, grinding points on XBL/PSN (and even worse, PC) is more excruciating than solo grinding on WoW as Priest, holy spec-ed.

AH girl scream Gootecks re-tweeted my Guide, and everyone is tweeting it to him. /testosterone-levels-depleting.

P.S… I will be gone from Sunday->Tuesday 'cause I have an Iron Man competition. Aiming for first strongest person on camp (up from third last year).

I waited a while to play ranked in AE. I’m pretty sure I farmed like 4kPP in less than a day. I usually never play ranked but I do when I’m bored and no one is on. I rarely lose, lol.

Playing online sucks. Wait… playing AE sucks.

Anyone want to play AE online? lol add me on xbox live I don’t play online much but today I’ll be on. My gamertag is Sketchone8

When are you gonna get AE PC noob.

When I get a PC. Actually, I got it for going to Evo but I gave it to my friend since I don’t have a PC lol

Nevermind I can’t play this online it’s too frustrating.

Any one got a link with Ibuki’s frame data?

I am looking for her best low frame moves. I generally have been using cr. lk but I was curious about the frame data on that as well as others such as st.lk, cr. lp and st. lp.

edit, all close versions. the far versions won’t be of help in what I need them for. thanks guys.
