Okay, I’m try to get better with Ibuki, but there’s so much to learn with her, what should I focus on first? Unblockables, safe-jumps, OS?

In case anybody is wondering, the thread title quote is from 3rd strike. A crude checklist of what it takes to master Ibuki, from noob to pro. Feel free to add ideas, especially ideas on how to practice each specific area. edit: as per request, I also added a section on what NOT to do with Ibuki.

^^What? I usually see most of you guys setting her voice to English rather then Japanese. Or I’m just imagining things.

Oh, I actually hate her SFxT voice as well (her Tsumuji/Command dash voice is horrible, and why does she say now “Kazakiri” instead of “Kazegiri” ? )

I do set it to English. I’m not saying her Ibuki voice is annoying, I’m saying she, as a person, is annoying when playing SF4. She’s fine in any other setting.

Ibuki’s Japanese voice is pretty annoying as well, so the English version wins by default.

Having grown up around Asian women with high-pitched, cutesy, and “kawaii” ish voices, it loses its appeal after awhile.

Chuckling and moving on is boring. You can’t be satisfied by taking down their character’s life bar, you have to want to GUARD BREAK HIS MENTAL LIFE BAR.

I’m still in the mentality where if it doesn’t happen in person, it doesn’t matter.

That probably would have started a pretty hilarious conversation though. I’m not really seeing where Ibuki is the greatest scrub-friendly character to ever grace Street Fighter. Maybe I’m just blind.
