That is a very interesting way to look at it, and you raise some interesting points. Guess we will have to wait and see, but your post definitely makes more sense than mine.
The chain destroys projectiles, as it IS a projectile.
I don’t think he’s have problems with PROJECTILE character. Maybe beam characters/Dormammu.
And trouble with Chris? Jump.
So I wonder something about Ghost Rider’s long range normals… do they extend his hurtbox similar to Dhalism in SF4?
Cause that would fuck up Ghost Rider
From what I saw, attacking the chain does nothing to him, if you can attack the chain. I’ve heard it has some durability, but that might be something else I’m thinking of
I am about 110 percent sure the chains have no hurtbox.
This is because they’re projectiles.
I wouldn’t necessarily call them projectiles…Blaze’s chains probably will work more like Spencer’s Bionic Arm. They can nullify weak, single hit projectiles, but they’re useless against beams.
At least that’s how I see it…
Now that you’ve brought it up, I actually do wonder if the game registers them as projectiles in the sense of will they activate dr stranges projectile counter. I don’t see that happening, I think they are more like sentinels feet while in flight mode, they had absolutely no hurt box but weren’t necessarily considered projectiles. But then again, for balance reasons they may have decided to just make em projectiles. Should be interesting to see when the game drops, but if anyone gets the chance, could they test if his chains activate dr stranges projectile counter. Although different chains could have different properties so some could be considered projectiles while others just don’t have a hurt box. Sooooo many possibilities.
Oh on a separate note, anyone know whats good with his bike hyper? I heard it has some invincibility or something of the sort but Im not really sure.
The two reasons that I think it’s a projectile?
Charging Star seems to blow through it.
They destroyed Dr. Strange’s Eye of Agamotto, which is 10 hits.
I don’t know. I could be wrong, but everything i’ve seen makes me inclined to believe that they are.

@3:48 His low shoulder tackle (cr.?) has some nice range.
@4:17 You can see his airthrow and the range on it. It is unlikely that you can combo off of it from mid-screen, but it still establishes Ghost’s default keep-away playstyle.
Add in anything else you guys notice from the new Team Khaos PAX videos.
With all his grabs and how his supers work, i actually think GR trys to pull you in where he can combo you, then end with super and take you back to at least 3/4 screen
Ghost Rider to Vergil:
“Long have you played with fire, boy – but now, you’re playing with Hellfire.”
I hope some Japanese dude gets footage of Ghost this weekend.
Something tells me Blaze is gonna have some heated words for both of the twins. Hopefully even Trish, too…
Hey guys, new here.
I will be going to Eurogamer in London next week for all of thursday and Friday.
Anything you guys want me to try out?
I’ll try my best to capture good footage (assuming my opponent will oblige me ;P)
Welcome to srk, hope you enjoy your time here.
As for things I would like for you to check out, maybe the properties on his motorcycle hyper, if it has any invincibility, what practical uses the follow ups each have. But more so than anything man I think everyone would agree all we want is some good play.
Are you interested in maining ghost rider in umvc3? I agree with jak d ripr, I just want to see some good gameplay.
If you are interested in ghost rider then maybe brush up by learning his normals and some combos before heading out there, that way you can be a little more prepared instead of trying to learn on the spot. There’s some good footage out there, and I’m sure the first post has lots of info.
good luck
Jak - Thanks man, ill shall experiment with the different options off the Motor bike super as best as I can. I’ll also demonstrate some good ghost rider play, i know how it feels to be eager about a character and only see below sub-par footage of the character
No_Cigar - My team as i have imagined it up until now has been Nova, Vergil, Ghost Rider. (subject to change but ill still try it like this at first when it comes out) At eurogamer Ill use ghost rider as point or second (to see how good his assists are and what set-ups can be used etc) This thread has been super helpful in me learning the character without even playing him, so here’s hoping I’m already prepared.
Anything else, just let me know.
Could you perhaps see if his Heartless Spire ( :h: ) is super cancellable? Also if you could see if this so called “Conviction Slam” with :rdp::s: truly exists, and what it’s properties are it would be fantastic, friend.
Hey man.
I’ll see if heartless spire is super cancelable. Conviction slam apparently is in fact the move where he spins the opponent around and slams them (or so the marvel vs capcom page states. I’ll see how its done.
All I need to know is how far Blaze can go after a Level 3. I mean, Level 3, then a long combo. We might wanna find this out, since Xfactor Guard Cancel Level 3 may not be enough for a comeback.
That, and if :rdp::s: even exists. OH and check how much damage the Level 3 does in all XFactors. That is all.
