Long Island Fight Club

The only thing I’m worried about is my not-so-loud voice. I’ll just get a megaphone and then I’m as good to go as I’m gonna be. :wgrin:

Cla, which arcade are you working at? Im in town and maybe we and some others can get some play in some stuff just for fun?

Castle Golf
1878 Middle Country Rd
Centereach, NY 11720

(631) 471-1267

I think the place opens at 11 and closes at 10. Regardless, my shift is 12 - 6. On the clock, I’m not suppose to play stuff. But once off the clock, I stick around for a while and play some things.

DDR (they have Extreme)
CvS2
MvC2
Tekken 4
Magical Drop III (on the Ultracade machine)

That’s what you’ll find me playing after my shift.

However, I don’t know the next day I’ll be working. How long will you be staying? Well, I’ll let you know when I know my next day.

I’ll be here till Tuesday, and there’s a big possibility I’ll be here longer, so I’m sure I can catch you for a bit.

Ok. I’m sure they’ll have me come in at least one of these days before you leave. What time would you be leaving on Tuesday?

By the way… the fighting games at Castle Golf:

CvS2
MvC2
Killer Instinct
Tekken 4

Then the all-in-one machine (Ultracade) has:

Fatal Fury 3
SF1
SF2
SF2 Championship
SF2 Turbo

There are probably some other ones, but those are all I noticed on my quick browse through the games.

Went up to Castle Golf today to check it out. Seems pretty cool, I havent been in an arcade in awhile. Turns out I run into an old Spaceplex person while IM there, someone I havent seen in almost 10 years. Man, I got on that KI machine, and even though I hadnt played in years, some old instincts kicked in and I manged to pull off some good combos. I am going back there every week from now on.

I’m psyched for some good VS. action and any kind of tourney that comes up, you can count me in. Castle Golf is definatley a gamer friendly place.

Send me an IM I can stop down to play some KI, and some CvS2…

Also, a skate shop in in Massapequa has a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, SF2 Turbo Hyper Fighting, MK2 and a killer instinct converted Ultimate MK3 machine. As well as turtles in time. I partied with the dudes last week and are super chill.

The address for this spot:
Made In New York Vintage Clothing
5366 Merrick Rd
Massapequa NY 11758

Phone number: 516.799.0748

Just a heads up of another place to possibly play. The guys that own the shop play too. I am super rusty with my Street Fighter skills but I’m down to play if castle golf gets anything going.

Cool. Always great to have one more place to play. I’d definitely like to play some Super Turbo and even MK2.

Yeah, I don’t know when my next day at Castle Golf will be. Still haven’t heard from them since I was there on Thursday.

Ryu/Adam/Frankie/urth… perhaps you guys should plan to meet on Monday (incase Ryu leaves on Tuesday) or something. I may show up anyway even if I’m not working, but I don’t know for sure.

So you know who I am: Long dirty-blonde hair, but I may have it stuffed into a khaki hat. I am typically at the go-karts, but if there’s not much going on (or of course when I’m off-the-clock), I may be inside the arcade. If you ask around for me, they know me as Edward or Eddie or any variation.

Well, I’m going to try and get down to Castle Golf today after work. I need to put my initals up on KI for the 48 hit Ultra with Orchid. Im the old guy with the glasses and goatee.

Wow. So that explains the interest in picking up and maintaining the fighting games. (I don’t know about the others, but CvS2 was bought while he was in charge)

Some guy named “Joe” has the top initials in KI. Don’t know who he is. Don’t remember the records, but good luck beating them.

I can’t believe old thread is gone…

WHERE ARE YOU SYN!!!?!??? lmao

Right here dude. Been mad busy with the internship. Did you get my email regarding your stick?

I’ll be out in Stonybrook this afternoon so I’m thinking of swinging by Castle Golf if I get the chance. Probably during the evening.

nah i didnt get anything you sure you sent it to the right email address?..but yo if anything man send it through a pm…but anyways yo man when we playin that marvel again man…i miss that heavy competition…not to mention on cvs2 as well (coughglenn cough lol) in case you need the address again its PeraltaMW@aol.com

I just got off the phone with Lance. He said he’ll be calling me by Thursday to let me know “what’s going on during the weekend”. I did not get to talk about the tourneys because he seemed to be in a rush. Adam, if you happen to see him before I do, let him know what I want to do.

Anyways… back to figuring the details of the tourneys…

Let’s shoot for this:April 22nd - Sign-ups as soon as Castle Golf is open. Tourney at 1PM.

$15 to enter your first game, $10 for the rest.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike on Xbox (I will have two convertors for PS controllers)
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on Arcade
Capcom Vs SNK 2 on ArcadeThese games are definite. If people want other games or CvS2, MvS2, and 3s on PS2, then people will have to bring consoles and more TVs.

I have only 1 TV to bring, the Xbox of course, and a PS2 that can read only PS1 and blue-bottom PS2 games. My PS2 can be used for MvC2, but I still need another TV as mine would be used for 3s.

So basically, I need everyone to start spreading buzz, (keeping in mind the date and time and even fee could change after I finally talk to Lance) and then I need to know who can bring what and what other games to include.

Ideally, I would like to have:Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike on Xbox
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on Arcade and Dreamcast (choose when you play)
Capcom Vs SNK 2 on Arcade and PS2 (choose when you play)
Either Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold or Alpha 3 Arranged on PS2 (vote! I vote for Alpha 3.)So basically, I would need people to bring in:2 PS2s
3 TVs
1 Dreamcast with 2 convertors for PS controllersI have the rest of the stuff needed.

And then hopefully I’ll be able to round up some PS3s for Tekken: DR and Virtua Fighter 5 tourneys on April 29th.

if we can use ps2 controllers for 3s i kno ppl that would like to come i can make him bring his ps2 with the game aswell i would like to see how i do in CvS2 havent played that game in long since last time i went to sport plus the machine was broken

For my Xbox convertors, I do not recommend using standard PS2 controllers. The pressure-sensitive buttons don’t always respond well. I recommend using PS1 controllers*, or PS2 controllers that don’t have pressure-sensitive buttons. (like an arcade stick)

*(original or Dualshock is fine. I use Dualshock. Actually, I have not tested using original PS1 controllers.)

If people would rather play on PS2, that’s fine by me. Someone just needs to bring a PS2 and the game.

Sports Plus doesn’t have any 2D fighters anymore. I guess that’s where Castle Golf bought CvS2 from. Either way, the machine works now.

hey if any one would like a melty blood and or guilty gear slash tourn i can bring my jps2 down just need someone with a TV

word ill spread the buzz for the tourney in SBU

:wgrin: Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. That’ll do. :china: Just keep in mind I am still in need of systems and TVs if people want anything besides the Arcade games and 3s on Xbox.

I have never played them but I’ve been interested. At the least, you can bring your TV and JPS2 for casuals while the other tourneys are going on. If there’s enough interest for a GG or MB tourney (preferrably at least 8 players, absolute minimum of 4), then of course we’ll do it.
