I usually play ranked because player match seems to only find mighty lords. At least in ranked I have some chance of playing someone close to my skill.
I think it starts at halfway through because you need to stay above 50% win/loss to build towards the next rank. if your win/loss is below 50% i don’t think that bar will ever increase (and you can actually rank down). and if you’re barely above 50% it will increase very slowly.
that’s why you see some people with like 70% win/loss and only 500 games played at a Master Lord. While some people have played 8000+ games, but only win about 52%, so they’re stuck on 1st Lord for an eternity.
i could be completely wrong, but that’s my best guess
Maybe at the higher ranks, I’ve been up to 7th lord and my win rate has never been above 45%

This. I’m at about 69-70% (flucutates) and I’m a high lord w/ only 1k wins while There’s people who I’ve vsed with 6000+ who are my rank or lower. It’s crazy.

Anyway, at one point, there’s about 4 of us spectating and only one person (3rd Lord I think) waiting for a match. I get a message from one of the other (Beginner) spectators.

How can people care so much about their unranked W/L ratio, at the cost of not improving by losing? I did end up checking his W/L ratio of online matches. 2 wins, 8 losses.
I’m still laughing at how he seemed to get insulted when I told him that MvC4’s probably 10 years away, considering he’s hardly touched UMvC3.

I only ever play Player Matches. My rank stays at Rookie because I don’t find the time for Ranked. Fortunately, I still seem to find good competition regardless.
The other day, I ran into somebody who played MODOK, Hulk and Wolverine (in that order). When he played MODOK, he mashed L the whole time. He didn’t even move forward he literally just mashed L lmao. When he played Hulk, he mashed H. No moving forward either. He did them bitches full screen. When he played Wolverine, he did swiss cheese the whole time… from full screen too.
Yeah, ever since I switched to lobby play, the game feels A LOT better. Maybe it’s the ability to get a runback when someone bodies you.
eh, still kinda feels like ranked for me when it’s a large lobby and you have to wait several matches to play them again. then there’s the chance someone else beats them first and the guy books it
personally, a lobby is way more fun for me with friends, but I prefer player match for longer sets
Yeah, I also really love the ability to see your opponent fight before you start, making the prospect of being “randomed out” much less likely.

Playing footsies with Frank online is suicide. Heaven forbid if he has LV4 or higher in lag spikes, shit is worse than Hulk. I had one match against someone who absolutely obliterated me with Frank, even though I know there were times I knew I was blocking correctly or XF cancel but it didn’t register. Interesting enough, it was that damn airport night stage >.> said stage+psn = bad combination
LOL Online whenever Hulk touches me also. I know I have some bad days against this dude, but all of them do the same damn thing and there’s nothing you can do about it. Seriously, team hyper armor makes laugh. It just screams “I’m gonna abuse lag and armor to fuck you up.” hahaha.
Vergil makes me laugh to because every time somebody pulls that rapid slash cross up I can’t block that shit worth my life. I KNOW it’s coming but it doesn’t matter at all because it’s online, lmao.
