t’s been a couple of years since we’ve heard any news about Warner Bros.’ attempt to bring intergalactic badass Lobo to the silver screen—and the last update, which involved then-director Guy Ritchie bailing so he could shoot the Sherlock Holmes sequel, wasn’t great. But with a new director, things are picking up steam.
Brad Peyton, who most recently directed Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, just got the nod from producer Joel Silver to rewrite and direct Lobo, based on the character created by Keith Giffen and Roger Slifer back in 1983.
It’s unclear how much of Lobo will retain the character’s interstellar bounty hunter roots, given the relative disappointment of Warner’s last attempt at cosmic adventure, Green Lantern. Nor is there any word of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s potential involvement—he threw his hat into the ring during Watchmen’s press siege.

Good. The Guy Ritchie treatment sucked an incredible amount of dangly scrotum. It was PG, and had no gore, or swearing.

Oh I see, let him play his lame ass version of Wolverine so that the Main man can rip his bitch ass in half amirite? Cause that is the only reason he should be in a movie like this. That and Ryan Renolds Green lantern getting pimp slapped into a black hole.

New Batmans and the Watchmen aside comic book movies based on DC characters pretty much all suck. It’s like there’s no in between.

I’m still waiting on a damn Superman film that doesn’t suck (Barring Superman II), I doubt Lobo will get off the ground, they’ve been trying to make that happen since the mid to late 80’s.

Expecting this to be bastardized.

The movie should be done by Robert Rodriguez with Danny Trejo as Lobo.

Actually, it was a go until Guy Ritchie quit the project to go do Sherlock Holmes. Now it has a director and writer attached (they wanna rewrite the script to make it more Lobo, as opposed to the PG mess they originally envisioned)

And I’d want Jackman not as Lobo lolol. I’d just have him be Hugh Jackman, or Random Character #125490721, just so Lobo can backhand him in a scene. I have no problem with a Green Lantern getting backhanded into a blackhole though.
