As they have become involve in politics, their actions have suggested that the nastier parts of their charter are part of their dogma.
Hell, ever since Hertzl wrote Der Judenstaat, various roups have people have behaved as if killing the Jews is the grand dogma of the Palestinian “struggle” (even if they did reject the idea of a “Palestinian” people even existing until it became politically useful to do so).
The Palestinians voted for Hamas, and the history of violent antisemitism stretches back long before their founding, which suggests that a lot of the Palestinian people have swallowed the antisemitism they’re bombarded with every day.
The Germans also voted for the Nazis, but the Nazis were far more secretive about the extent and nature of their genocidal ambitions.
There’s no holier than tou side in any conflict. But there’s very often a lesser of two evils.
Then do it! Because I see no evidence for this claim.
They’re a race now? Until recently, they weren’t even a national group; they were just “Southern Syrians” and the concept of “Palestine” was rejected as a Western imposition. But as it became clear that it would be impossible to wipe Israel off the map, the “Palestinian people” were created. That way, Israel rejectionists could say that Israel was not occupying part of the Arab land, it was actually occupying the whole of the land of Palestine. Smart move.
There’s a difference between the inevitable civilian deaths that occur during a war (you name me one country that can fight a war and not kill civilians; the Israelis have a far better record than most, and a far better record than the US or UK), and deliberate targeting of civilians practised by terrorists.
And the fact that Hamas hide amongst civilians and use them as human shields (a gross violation of human rights and the Geneva convention) doesn’t exactly help. If I were a cynical person, I might even go so far as to say that militant Palestinian groups try to get their own civilians killed as a way of provoking hatred for Israel around the world.
I also think far fewer Palestinian civilians would die if the authorities allowed them to be treated in Israeli hospitals, which used to happen. But perhaps lower civilian deaths would hurt the propaganda effort.
