I just started reading the new Iron Fist recently, and I have to agree, David Aja’s shit is TIGHT. simple, stark and bold. he’s the one who does the covers too, right? if not, then that guy is awesome too.
edit: though i really really dislike the decision to be so mask-heavy on some of the character designs. somehow i just can’t buy off on ancient chinese thunder god rocking out in some cheesy mask and sleeveless shirt.
No, he’s not a bad artist. I like how he started out inking his brothers work. From his proportions and foreshortening to his perspective and anatomy, his illustrating/drawing style was pretty solid and up there with his brothers, John (R.I.P).
Sal Buscema (/bjuːˈsɛmə/; born January 26, 1936) is an American comics artist, primarily for Marvel Comics, where he enjoyed a ten-year run as artist of The Incredible Hulk. He is the younger brother of comics artist John Buscema. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, Sal Buscema was the youngest of four siblings. His elder brothers Alfred and John, a celebrated comic-book artist, and his sister Carol predeceased him. Their father, who was born in Italy and died in 1973, was a barber.

Another great and overlooked Silver Age comic artist I liked is, Wally Wood (R.I.P):
Wallace Allan Wood (June 17, 1927 – November 2, 1981) was an American comic book writer, artist and independent publisher, best known for his work on EC Comics's Mad and Marvel's Daredevil. He was one of Mad's founding cartoonists in 1952. Although much of his early professional artwork is signed Wallace Wood, he became known as Wally Wood, a name he claimed to dislike. Within the comics community, he was also known as Woody, a name he sometimes used as a signature. In addition to Wood's hundreds...

The artist is Kia Asamiya.
Sal Buscema was great. Good run in Spectacular Spider-man. Death of Harry was a great comic.
Yeah, Sal Buscema is my favorite of all the '90s Spider-Man artists. Spectacular by DeMatteis and him has also just aged better than most of those other runs from that era.

can you give me some good & recent x-men artists? I’m a fan of realistic drawings.
Jack Kirby.
Well, he’s not recent. But his technique is essentially flawless.
None of the X-titles are especially “realistic” looking, IMO. The one I’d point to is Eaton from X-Factor.
Curt Swan…
oddly enough I like his art better than Kirby and Romita Sr., he can adapt to anything and his faces are always different and very expressive.
