The topic title is flawed, because of the ambiguous definition of “Best”. It’s probably better to use most number of wins or most number of international wins.

You have the core knowledge/technical areas:

  • Best main (self) character knowledge
  • Best or consistent execution with that character’s move set
  • Best match-up knowledge, IN THAT PARTICULAR MATCH-UP. We have 45 categories!

And then you have the psychological areas based around profiling, gathering information and formulating reads and traps

  • Best knowledge of a particular opponent. Eg. Snake Eyez knows Philopinoman more than Itazan.
  • Patterning behaviour
  • Management of risk/reward. Like how big the size of their bet is, and whether they want to go ALL IN.
  • How often they represent and enter tournaments. ie. Results
  • Luck of the draw or bracket, which makes a difference between 46th position and Top 4.
  • Lifestyle issues like health and stress.

But that’s the way it is, an ambiguous question deserves, of itself, an ambiguous answer. Personally, I rate Cantona a nano-fraction above Hagejin and Snake Eyez, but I’m biased as fuck.

I also want to add that after Daigo and Momochi lost to Hagejin that first time last year, they never lost a set to a Zangief player again (This was before Capcom cup).

Wao played in a tournament recently, didn’t look like his usual self. He’s been playing Evil Ryu, Oni looked rusty, even in neutral it looked like he was struggling.

Uryo still uses Viper… In casuals or people he doesn’t take serious. Doesn’t look like he ever stopped playing her, I guess he just finds the other characters more interesting.

I think K Brad’s Cammy is actually better than Xiao Hai’s. Xiao Hai is just a better player.

You really have to check out KeijiN. I actually consider him better than KitasenjuDJ, Kitasenju just has the higher arcade ranking.

You really think Machabo’s ERyu is comparable to Daigo/Sako? Can you provide insight into the way he plays that makes him equal, or show tournament results/matchups results against top players?

I wouldn’t say as good as Daigo but still very very good. Machaboo beat Nemo 46-36, though that isn’t the only reason I consider him that good. You can tell from his play that he is just extremely aware of everything around him - it shows, as he is a master level guilty gear player with a ton of tournament experience.

I also think Xiaohai’s should be considered.

I’ve seen Keiji-N play and been impressed with him, but it’s hard to say he’s better than Kitasenju considering what he’s achieved recently. Won a 430 man qualifier to get into the B League, top 4 at Ultra Hyakkishu Cup (which Keiji went out in pools in) and finishing runner up in the B-League against loads of top players.
