the resolution of the sprites is defined by the resolution of the environment and not by the size of the sprite itself (weird i know, but take in consideration that its about the amount of pixels per inch, and not the size of the sprite on screen)
Does anybody even like how Athena looks in this game? Just wondering I personally hate it, also I preffer the pixel look, but either look is fine really
I think the game looks absolutely gorgeous on RGB monitors.
I even think it looks great as is, but I also think it’d look so much better if everything was scanned in at 720 or 1080.
That said… whether it’s on the arcade or at home, because of the resolution… Ryo’s shadows on his face make him look like one scarred up Two-Face and Elisabeth looks well… like some really bad make-up accident
But everything else is gorgeous, the details as they are drawn on clothes looks great, and the game really animates quite well.
The sprites are defined by the resolution of the environment? Then both BB and KOF12 are 720p if we go by “environment” resolution, since both games render at 720p, KOF12 sprites are zoom in a lot. I was talking about actual Sprites resolution, I open the sprites in Photoshop and measure them, that is how I came up with the measurements.
I just said BB is 480p APROX is because the average of the sprites tallness is around 480 pixels high, same with KOF12 240p approximation on resolution. You don’t need a 720 pixels High sprite for a game that runs in 720p, besides for what I recall BB runs at 720p native, so the sprites can’t be 768p.
