HA, I remember in elementary school, the teacher would bust out the RR, and 3/4 of the class was passed the fuck out, probably due to coming back from recess. I’d always nod off by the time they got to the what the kids are reading portion.
I get heckled a LOT because I enjoy reading. People come over a see my bookcases and are like “ewwww u read?” At which point I begin planning their murder. My dad refuses to read. I got him a book for Christmas ONCE, signed by his favourite hockey player, and I may as well have just filled his gift box with hacked up hobo parts, judging by his expression.
I am behind this, so long as Geordi wears his visor from Star Trek and teases the kids by telling them he can see extra words and pictures with it. Also, every episode he has to hit somebody in the face with a huge ass book (like Stephen King’s book The Stand) because they don’t read.

I’m not gonna lie, niggas aren’t too great at reading. By niggas I mean children in general have gotten awful at reading. Sure people wanna get at Matriarch for talking jabs at Rap but the same kids that can’t read a sentence are the same ones telling me that Whiz Khalifa is a good rapper (this is not really attached to race, kid are illiterate AND love awful rappers).

anywho, what scares me about people who don’t read now, is that they will have kids someday. Kids that will see them not read, and won’t either, and we’ll get dumber and dumber because “books iz dumm”. Then wonder why every Hollywood movie is a sequel instead of something new and creative.

Reading was a refuge from all the loneliness and outside bullshit of life when I was small. It was a liberation and how I developed oneself.
Kids would talk about pokemon or something and play handgames while I immersed myself with a book. I miss those times. :smokin:
