What do you guys do after you land a backthrow? I just realized that I will always go for the safe jump, aside from that, I have no clue what to do.
Backthrow also puts at perfect range for a fairly safe EX Bingo so there’s that

What moves can I use to apply pressure with Cody?
all? every move has an occasion to be useful. in “rush down pressure” game you mostly use c.mk and in particular f.mp to “advance”. crack kick, c.mp, c.lp, rocks etc for a little mix up and frame traps.

What are Cody’s fastest and longest range punishes?
I’ve been using cr.lk xx mk.rk but I feel like there is a way to get more damage.
Well, you’re not gonna beat cr.lk for speed. it’s his fastest move. As far as range, it’s up there too. You’ll need to be a little closer to do considerably more damage…once you’re close enough for c.hp all kinds of things open up…even cr.mp will open up things for a little more speed.
c.lk xx hp cu does more damage and off a c.lk, hp cu will connect full always. (there are exceptions but those are like the name says… exceptions which dont seem to follow a specific rule. it happens rarely anyway).
Just curious, but wouldn’t bingo be the best option after rh rk fadc into cu every single time? Like I was watching I8600011 punish with FA lvl 3, c.hp xx rh rk fadc f+rh, ex cu but wouldn’t FA lvl 3, c.hp xx rh rk fadc zonk, ex cu do better? I have the feeling this is strictly corner tho so is it only in corner you switch the crack kick for the zonk?
yes it it. and even for non corner it’s superior unless you spend one more meter for f.hk, ex cu.
c.fierce xx roundhouseruffian>FADC>crackkick>excu is just more reliable because its easymode inputs.
& while its nowhere near impossible… buffering the bingo, releasing it properly after the fadc, & landing the excu after the bingo is just tougher input/timing wise

yet its one of my fav goto 3bar combo from a normal… ive also seen ryan hunter using it as well

So I was wondering, what are some ways to get into f+mp pressure? I usually start after a knockdown or cross-up, but is there anything else I can do?
cody has a feature that is incredible powerful. it’s called “walking forward” feel the might! try it! xD just kiddin but really, walking is a somewhat underrated tool, that many doesn’t consider enough. walking forward while blocking any hits (you can call it “dance”). also, f.mp has quite some reach. it even function as counter poke.
“best looking” 3 bar is: lvl 2 focus, lp rocks, hk ruffian fadc ex criminal upper ^^ mostly useless, but stylish nonethe less
Has anyone noticed that if you keep hitting s. mk, Cody will sometimes move up a little?
With the AE change of Crack Kick having more juggle, it would be pretty awesome if it could combo directly into U1.
U1 is way too slow to combo off of crack kick unless they modify it so that crack kick sends you flying into the air or something, which is for sure not happening.
if the same timing will apply the two new options will be f.mp reset and maybe ex ruffian (into ex cu).
anti air crack kick in corner could lead to u1 or zonk.
hk rufian fadc crack kick u1 would be great; i think it would be easier than fadc directly into u1.
