Playing at Gameworks tonight against most everybody after I got them to fix the sticks was fun.
Playing against Jason and Samson whoring the working left-stick run-away CapCom assist was fucking retarded and made me nauseated.
Guys, the sticks are pretty broken. Casual Marvel works, run-away CapCom assist wins at the select screen. =P
I actually started beating Samson using the 2P side, even though I couldn’t block on when my character was on the left side of the screen. I have a harder time beating Zach when he gets the broken side!
Good games tonight everyone. It was a lot of fun despite the broken sticks.
I actually had some fun Playing 3s thursday night. Marvel was fun when I shut my brain off and completely ignored the non-blocking, no supers, and going straight up with lightning attack when I pushed the stick sideways. Oh, and not to mention getting light kick without pressing buttons with down/down right on the left side stick.
But yeah, the no music/no kicking minors out at 10/no announcements regarding time at GW was really, really strange to me. It felt like a different arcade to me, in a way. Definitely not ever going down to GW again unless I’m going for other games besides the fighters. DDR with big-breasted girls sounds really top tier right now 
They stopped the whole annoying music/announcement/GTFO kids thing?
Seems like it. Unless of course the equipment was being repaired/replaced.
It was jacked up when I left. The AV system was running on WIndows 3.11. Sounds like they haven’t hired any replacement people yet nor have any plans on ‘upgrading’ the system.
I shit you not, Windows 3.11.

I’m tired of hearing shit like “Stupid american sticks!” and seeing shit like people sulking because of the fact that the sticks are against them or something. I’m tired of playing scrubness to it’s max at gameworks.

Meh. I used to get upset by the sticks, but I just decided that I’m getting what I came for when I drive to GW. Good games against your makoto, by the way. That was pretty fun last week
It’s not possible to argue that the current techs are very good about taking time to verify the games to make sure they’re working well. Broken buttons (I was told that they didn’t have any more back-ups left?!?), the broken speaker on Marvel - these are just things that aren’t hard to fix. Put on the list, invest $20 for the past, voila greatness.
The Marvel buttons were fixed through cannibalizing a broken machine, but that does worry me for the future. Buttons are cheap, pissed off players are expensive since you lose your economic lifeblood.
But sticks are generally frickin’ random, so it’s hard to complain about them too much. That said, it sure doesn’t seem like GameWorks takes the time to airblow out all the grit or that kind of thing on any regular basis.
Not to mention that buttons cost as much as three plays on marvel. Buttons PLUS microswiches.

all games are 50 cents now. so if you got points, youre lucky. i picked up a random card i had at home and i swiped it and i had 170 credits! 2credits/game
oh and yeah random 2p side… couldnt land 2 consecutive ahvbs today. sad day even if i dont play cable.
