Sorry man. I go for the time cards really. I honestly can’t afford to use points. I can get there at 8 and use points until 9 when the time cards happen, if you want but we really should have talked before going. I honestly didn’t think you’d show.
If you aren’t too pissed, let’s try again next week and I will call you for sure before going and we will set up a time. Again, my bad/sorry/all that stuff.
And yes, jason got smacked down tonight badly.
I thought marvel peoples were going to put a stool through the monitor because of the 1p stick though. I guess none of the techs know how to fix it or something.
Sorry I didn’t make it guys… I was hanging out with my friend Hope who is moving to England todae. So, we all went out dancing, it was fun… Somehow I ended up buying drinks for about 8 women…
Nah dude don’t worry about it - thinking about it I should’ve waited longer. I forgot the time card shit starts at 9… I waited a little after 9 but I’m not sure by how much. Musta been tired from work.
Yeah I’ve had pretty basic hair for a while, while (while while!) looking for work, but thinking about it I bet I could dye my hair at my job. Edmonds yuppies would be too much if I had the mohawk methinks.
360’s have taken a downturn since Happ bought the rights. That Marvel P1 stick is a brand-new-direct-from-factory stick, and is garbage. It’s also the second new one I put in there in the past month.
It’s the gate limiter (I should know the technical term, but fuckit. I don’t). This is a little plastic circular piece that sits on the spring (which is of differing tension that the original 360 that is in the P2 side). The P2 side has a little groove in the limiter that allows greater, well, limits on the joystick action in the circular gate. The expanded limits let the actuator hit the diagonal optic sensors…the new non-grooved limiters don’t unless you press the stick in exactly the correct position. Which, as you know, is frustrating on a circular-gated stick.
So I bored out the limit plate with a Dremel to allow a little more freedom in the movement. It’s not perfect, and since the plate is plastic…it’s kinda crunchy. Fuck. But diagonals can be hit with a lot more frequency now. Range of motion still isn’t up to snuff with the P2 side.
The shop does not have a lathe which is what I would need to put that small groove near base of the limiter. Trying to do it by sight would prove hilarious, in my eyes. Or at least with me trying to do it.
Dunno.
Options?
Put Happ competition sticks on the cab? Hate to do it. Put the Hori japanese-stlye sticks (see: T5 cab) on? Yeah. Bitch-storm awaits. Try to put a groove in a spare limiter we have in the shop from the other failed 360’s? Prolly what I’m gonna try to do.
I like the feel and smoothness of a working 360. No corner gates, yes, but my personal opinion is that for Capcom 2D games, the circular gate is where it is at. Maybe because I only play Shotos…that’s not out of the realm of possibility.
The groove in the limiter on the P2 side is machined, and not from use. I have no proof of this, this is just my observation.
I personnaly wouldn’t be opposed to japanese sticks in MvC2. But I think i’m in the minority on that.
Also, Matt, the 1p side on 3s is gettin real bad. At times you can’t jump backward or forward so if you could take a look at that when you get a chance that’d be coo.
Were you the guy in the red fitted and shirt at Zach’s last time? Dunno who you are on SRK but I’m sure I’d know you in person. Kenny’s old roommate before you ate the last of the sandwich meat?
Yeah I’d actually play Marvel if we had jpn sticks. As soon as I can get my shit over to a dvd burner I’ll burn ps2 marvel and practice on my japanese stick and then I’ll at least be practiced enough to move on the big hunking bat tops.
