Around what time? Most people come around 4-7 happy hour prices

I’d like to thank the guy who came back on me with a pixel Magneto / full Cyke after I decided not to chip Mags to death.
I’d also like to thank Pablo, who did a 100% combo on Cable after I DHCd from Hyper Mega Man to Hyper Viper Beam JUST after the HMM projectiles disappeared (those must be on screen for the DHC to connect cleanly), leaving me saying Ohhhhhhhh Shiiiiiiii as he rolled out of the HVB.
I’d also like to thank Jason and everyone else who taught me all sorts of ways I can excitingly lose matches I was way way way the fuck ahead in.

Yesterday was painful like sitting down after your first night in prision.

Anybody know if a couple of dudes named DJ and Patrick still play at works? Couple of black dudes, Tekken players. I played them quite a bit while I was attending AIS. I’ll be moving back up this winter for UDUB, just curious if they still play.

Also, do Pat - ast. manager, last I knew - and Matt - technician - still work there?

I just got back. I’m probably going to head to Gameworks this Thursday to play some Marvel.

i was at gw on thurs and i got kicked out of the bar. they didnt want me drinking all their jager. lol

I remember them and I haven’t seen them there in a longtime.

So whats the deal GW has on Thursday nights? I have only been there on the weekend.

drinks are cheaper.

On thursday they offer 2 $ shots of jaegar and 2 $ shots of tequila (I think they also have 2$ pints of Pabst or something). the only bad thing is that the tequila is jose cuervo which is not exactly premium. but its only 2$. great deal. combine that with 3 hours of unlimited play for only ten dollars and you’ve got a cheap night of fun. but playing drunk kind of impairs execution reaction and general thought process. thats why i stick to crisis zone and other mindless shooters (no Target Terror  )

fishjeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I find it funny/tight/amusing that people play at GW. The last stand against the end of time. The resistance against weak scenery.

I <3 it!

Also, next time could you not be so fucking annoying if you decide to drink. If not, I’ll german suplex you and follow it up with a tiger driver 91’ for the 1-2-3.

Thanks for coming out guys, and keeping the scene alive… sort of.

no way dude. just wait until you turn 21 in a couple of months, then you can enjoy the 2$ shots as well. I’ll buy!

Is it really a last stand. Whereas the Lanwerx in Bellevue and Woodinville closed up shop because they just couldn’t make a profit, Gameworks won’t. Gameworks has established and entrenched itself as a moderately successful franchise/brand, so its not going down anytime soon. I think its the fact that it combines dining, drinks, arcades, along with other forms of entertainment (pool, pinball and airhockey) that make it do so well.

I’m not sure about how good the controls are since I just mash the buttons randomly anyway. But I’m going to venture a guess that the machines are way better mantained than they were at Lanwerx (someone jump in and correct me if I’m wrong here)

So yeah, while arcades may die out, Gameworks won’t. Its actually kind of encouraging.

Actually =p Lanwerx Bellevue had the best arcade by far thanks to Zach and everyone else who kept the environment alive. I would be lucky to win a couple of games if the Seattle Crew was there.

man GW is helllaaaa expensive. cost lik 80 cents for a fuckin game of marvel. thas fuckin dumb. but if its 10 all you can play thn that is a good deal

Unless there are 20 people in line. Last time I went, it would have been cheaper just paying 80 cents per game…

Just don’t lose much. That’s my strategy… I’m still nursing the same $40 play card I got from Evan waaaaay back when.

Plus you can usually share a timecard…

I lose all the time (in awesome matches mind you), and I think I only spent around five dollars for the whole night one time I didn’t get a time card.

It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than most activities out there.

I mean seriously anything that is fun to do like strippers, smoking, drinking, whores, street racing (my whip needs premium fuels), and what not costs a good amount of cash.

if you buy the ten dollar card you just have to make sure you get your money’s worth. so if the line for marvel is long you just find something else to play. although in practice this is actually hard to do since all the machines are crowded and taken by around 10 PM.

Last time I got a $10 card with 2 other people so it was $3 but I only lost one game to Zach and played one other time -_-
