Cyberbots!
Everyone sleeps on this game, but its actually really solid. Crazy tri-dash movement, Magneto style cross/uncross mixups. Really varied cast with everyone being viable.

I’ve actually been planning on doing just that for a little while. The srk wiki page has a solid amount of good information and explanation of game techs but I’ll probably work on a more nlin depth writeup. I also need to record some matchvids, just got one of the flexy tripods for my digicam so I should be able to figure out a way to record matches off my cab.
I know the game suprised a few people while I was playing it off my laptop at Final Round this weekend

Not exactly lesser know but definitely less popular, the Street Fighter EX series could do with a new sequel.
Hell I’d just love a revamped EX Plus Alpha with all of the other characters introduced in the sequels.

Not necessarily high level play. This was part of a random fighting game tournament at my house a few weeks ago. Basically, we put the names of all the fighting games we have here (50+) in a hat. Each round of the tournament is a different random game. This was the first match of the first round of the tournament.
I’ve played BB2 quite a bit. Basically, you spend a lot of time running. The characters that are holding a throwing weapon at the beginning have an advantage. If there were to be a tournament, I’m sure the gun characters would probably be banned. Red Shadow is probably the best character. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushido_Blade_2
