If Ninja Masters were updated to fix the infinites, and rebalanced a little, I think it could be awesome. Always thought that game never got enough attention.

Techromancer, Rival Schools, Fighting Vipers/Fighters Megamix and Last Blade.

efz rants follows

I think I may have come across you before. Mai player, no? I am a Misaki/Shiori player. Eternal Fighter Zero will never be updated, again it’s bullshit. It sucks to know that they will never put out more of this great(though faulty) game. I played this game since 3.10(really, 3.00 but whatever), and I still can’t stop playing it!! That’s probably 6 years now.

It’s really addictive. Just like Marvel and KoF, you get what you put in. Practice sessions earn me direct rewards. However, unlilke Marvel, or even Melty Blood, it’s not gone forever if you stop practicing! I had to stop playing the game like in 2005-2006 period because I had some stuff irl to take care of, but when I got back in 2007 I was amazed that I only lost like 10-20 percent of what I used to be able to. In two weeks I dare say I started improving again.

There’s something warm and fuzzy about looking at this bobblehead looking thing pull Rugal’s Gigantic Pressure, or Raging Demon. That’s personal opinion. Generally other folks who tried this game will say; The design is bad, physics need some work, and there is too much emphasis on combos. RG clashes are awkward and stalls the game. These are all true criticism, and will allow players to quit in 10 minutes of playing the game.

When I speak for myself though, EFZ proved itself to be worth learning. EFZ is one of few new school game wherein some of old school tactics work. Can you effectively win wakeup game in Melty Blood or Arcana Heart? No, your ass is screwed in those games if you’re simply positioned wrong. That new school bullshit don’t fly here. There are multiple ways to wake up; throws are effective and at the same time there are multiple ways of avoiding throws for most characters; combos are difficult and they can go beyond ABCABCABC(some of the easiest people to destroy are ABCABCABC simpletons).

EFZ is also one of few games that really emphasizes dynamics, there is that feeling of gradual buildup during play: everyone is continually getting stronger by round and when that R3 hits, I know that most of the times both players seriously better step it up and put in all they got. So far, the only game that succeeded in this, are WHP and SSVSP IMO.[/details]

6+ years and I still can’t quit that game. Come to my channel for stuff I found in that game:
www.youtube.com/seaechiowai

I could name a few I think deserves another shot:

Rumble fish (PS2)
World’s greatest disciple, Kenichi (PS2)
Waku-Waku 7 (Neo-Geo)

There’s a Rumble Fish 2 though… Just never got ported.

There is?

I’m going to look it up on UTube. I’m sure there must be some vids of it. Thanx.

Evil Zone had a great story mode.
I loved how they were like “next episode, you will encounter someone evil! Who will it be?!” and the next stage would be the “next episode”. I mean, really? Why would they do something so gay?
That’s like if I’m playing Street Fighter and every time I beat a character, it will talk about who I might run into and what might happen.
"After having defeating Ryu, you now face an opponent way more deadly, but shares the same ability. Who will it be? Next time, on Street Fighter!“
5 seconds later
"Oh look, I’m fighting Akuma”

Also, the little girl with the rings was broke.
BROKE I SAY!!!

lol evil zone that game was indeed the shit.

Snk vs Capcom:MOTM

and I love haters!

I would love to see a section on Cyberbots. I have actually been thinking of writing one for a while. My buddy and I play that game from time to time and its pretty damn fun. I don’t really know why it never caught on. I’m not sure on the game balance, whether or not its got any broke-tier characters. I don’t even think it caught on in Japan either.

Anyone that wants to play some time on 2DF just send me a PM.

Rumble Fish 2 needs to get ported.

Psychic Force needs a new game.

They need to revise Sengoku Basara X and bring out Sengoku Basara XX Accent No Ken.

But…perhaps the fighting game that most needs a revival is…

FIGHTERS DESTINY. N64’s best fg. I was playing this game for years while you all had your precious PS1 selections to choose from. Ushi the cow ftw.

Fighter’s Destiny was awesome. I never got a chance to play the 2nd one. It didn’t do that well at the time despite getting good reviews but my buddy and I used to play the shit out of that game.

N64 had a couple other fighting games but they were kinda bad. War Gods, Bio FREAKS, Clay Fighter, Deadly Arts…Mace the Dark Age wasn’t toooo bad.

Atomiswave is emulated and HnK is running great. All we need is for RF2 to be dumped, since it is an atomiswave game. :wgrin:

Try X: Unmei no Tatakai for PSX. It seems to be the same engine and developers, but with characters from the X anime and other moves. Great game.

Yeah, it’s a waste to let all that art from SBX go to waste without making a few improved versions at least.

As others said, Evil Zone was the shit.

Anyone on here ever play that Capcom 3D fighter Star Gladiator 1 or 2 (AKA Plasma Sword in the US)? I have been playing it a little bit lately. I must say that I have a certain fondness for those Playstation 1 era primitive 3D graphics. Gameplay in those games is so simple though compared to say, Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter.

Jurassic Park Warpath

It had DINOSAURS FIGHTING, dunno about balence since it was years ago whn I played it but it felt pretty awesome to play. (I think it even showed damage on the dinosaurs bodies cased by the fighting)

I thought I was the only person who attempted to play Fighters Megamix competitively by souping out combos and tech traps often in training mode. I still find it rather deep even by todays standards. Its like a Tekken 3 that didn’t get a sequel.

I prefer to play it on team battle where both players choose 3 characters each, that way the music doesn’t loop between rounds and theres some what some strategy in who you combine, as its stupidly matchup heavy.

Man, Rentahero is fucking awesome.

You sir, ftw. Rival Schools, despite having a sequel or two, needs something ANY kind of update. The series was great and a blast to play; it just didn’t have enough of a following here. I play it and Project Justice frequently even now.

I played it so much back in the day that I imported the pseudo-sequel RS2 for PSOne.
