Lehigh Valley, PA Players (Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton)

Yo everyone it was great seeing you all this weekend. Just wanted to say thanks to all who was there with me and gave me support and made my first tourney exp. great. I really had a fucking blast and really want to go again. I gave it my all in the end and pretty happy with the results, even with the bs DQ. Manny thanks for helping this tourney noob lol and it was nice to meet your L.I. friends, they’re some cool people.

Oh and Scrubtastic Voyage ftfw. Stay free EG!

Also just wanna know, how far did Christian make it?

Good stuff this week end sucks you ended up losing to DQ. cristian ended up getting 3 straight wins in the losers one being floe. He lost to a gen didn’t know the match lol supposedly we beat him in teams and wanted a rematch. thats what he told my brother anyway

Yeah it sucks but what can you do? That’s great for him! Christian sweeping the competition lol. He’s a really good player, I feel like I have to learn Blanka matchup better because of him lol. Didn’t see Blanka of that much of a threat before. You sure it was someone from teams or was it the Gen player that you beat in singles? No one knows the Gen matchup lol.

Good games all this weekend

We would have killed in Tekken teams yo

Manny needs to learn Spinal’s actual combo and stop spamming cr qk

Dr victory on 360 gamertag. Hit me up if you wanna play tonight

Sup everyone. Sorry about the grammar, it’s late. So I’ve been thinking lately, and I really wanna up my game. When I say up, I mean really overhaul lol. I’ve been reading the Footsies Handbook on Sonic Hurricane and stuff like that, and I’m trying to strengthen my fundamentals as much as I can. I found out about two “exercises” that we could try out to increase our stuffs in ssf4.

The first is playing with all normals and throws only. No specials, ultras, or supers. It’s all about them normals and throws. Normals are the bone structure to a character, so it’s important to know which poke to use in which situation. I think this could be really helpful to increase the footsie game with our characters, and increase ground game in general.

The second is surviving against the clock. Player 1 starts off the round relentlessly rushing down the other player, and player 2’s only goal is to survive the clock. Player 1 should mix it up with everything they’ve got: tick throws, frame traps to kill crouch tech OS, just everything to keep player 2 guessing. Then next round the roles are reversed. I think this could help increase defense overall and to help gain comfort in blocking instead of trying to reversal/press buttons in every defensive situation (I know I have this problem.)

Sorry for the term paper! All this may sound really lame, but it could actually be kinda fun and really helpful and good practice. I just think if we try doing stuff like this, we can increase our skill levels as a whole. If anyone is interested in trying out either of these things just let me know, and I can be your punching bag for this friday lol. We should up our scene here and get as much out of our weekly sessions as we can. Our scene may be a bit small and spread out compared to others but we’ll manage. Let’s level up together guys!

Man I’m impressed

I’d def. do all of this if I played SF

But in all seriousness, what you suggest is not bad… sometimes when you’re just playing to win each match, and not really thinking about how else to buff up your gameplay, you can get stuck in a rut. Its really important to just practice simple things when there is a chance

Thanks Carmen! You know you can still play, Chun’s mp is still good in this game so you can just spam that and win lol.

Yeah I think it’s a good idea to step back every once in a while to see if everything is in check (I know I need to.) I want to cover as many flaws as I can. Well till Friday then! Hope to be there with a new char.

I’ll be down for noramls only match bison seems op with that though.

The run the clock one not a fan of I think it will teach you to back you self into the corner with no meter. Run that clock would work better with games like marvel or even tekken IMO.

Yeah Bison has great normals but I don’t think he will be too op. Rose has some good normals and some great range pokes. We’ll see this Friday then, I’ll be ready to whore that st.hk of hers

I don’t think it’s about learning how to back off, but more on being able to withstand large amounts of pressure and trying to remain cool through it and not constantly press buttons. You may be right tho, this game is lame as it is lol.

PS, C.Viper trials make me want to cry in a corner and never come out.

hopefully i can make it out now this friday, since it’ll be my last day of finals before winter break. I also have my converter so i can play my ps3 pad on 360 so no excuses

Hey guys. Something came up and I won’t be able to attend this Friday. Brent and Bryan will still be there but you guys are going to be down one setup. If anybody has a tv and/or systems they could bring, please do because otherwise you guys will be waiting around for games with just one setup. Again I apologize but unfortunately this is something that I cannot get out of.

I just wanted to say happy holidays to all of the fighting game enthusiasts in the Lehigh Valley. Also, due to the Holidays, we will resume the Friday night gatherings at the Encounter on January 14th
