Wow why did I never think of that? You are right though 2v1 Caitlyn probably does win with support. I know Cait can do damage and with a taric or support of choice can be a beast in the lane. However putting her with support in lane weakens her potential for late game. It is a safe choice, but their are a lot of ranged AD characters that can handle themselves in lane without that need. This frees up another person to either jungle/support the duo lane/roam. Now she is fine in middle a few characters can give her issues but I am specifically talking about the situation you guys brought up saying cait is better top. Yes she can sit in the bush… However she is a really easy target for a jungle/assassin hero is my main point.

Is she a decent hero? yes. However in solo Q she is a pretty rough choice. I am just making a point for competitive team composition. I am NOT making any points regarding regular normal game team composition who cares about that play whoever you want.

Game is free. No problem pitching in a few bucks for a free game that you like to play anyway.

I’m sorry you’ve not learned how to harass with auto attacks vs melee champions. The only melee champ he doesn’t do well against laning is Irelia. Irelia’s armor is retarded and her passive HP regain per hit makes it null. She has problems against Akali at 6… But who cares thats 6 levels of pure unadulterated rape.

Cait/Soraka is widely considered to be the strongest duo lane in the game right now. Soraka shouldn’t be getting any last hits. Carries scale with items and less so with levels, so farm is more important than exp. Sure, in solo queue the Soraka would be trying to take last hits from you, but in a real 5v5 team game, which is what I thought we were talking about, Caitlyn can farm for free while Soraka buffs her and is a total penis to the enemy lane. She has a perfectly fine spot in competitive team comp. IE headshot crits are fucking stupid, and that alone is enough to make her worth having her around, especially since they buffed her headshot.

Basically, Caitlyn doesn’t work that well for the NA meta because her mid isn’t dominant enough, but she is an amazing character if played in the EU style of support+carry bot lane. Not going to turn this into a debate about which is better, but recent events have definitely shown that support+carry beats NA bot lanes pretty handily most of the time. Even the games the NA team won their bot lane usually lost out.

How is Swain? He looks interesting but haven’t seen anyone use him.

He’s solid, not particularly amazing not terrible. He is AWESOME in the lane though, if you land an immob it’s basically over, and since all your skills are DOTS you can do a lot of damage while they’re on a tower without taking much/any back.

Headshot criticals with IE are legitimately the dumbest shit I’ve seen in LoL for awhile.

Hugh Mad.

He is very good in lane, and can use his lane dominance to propel himself decently into mid/late game. He does get kind of fucked by ignite, but he is definitely competitive as an AP mid character.

Cool good to know. That is a much better explanation I can see that working out quite well with solid coordination.

And ya I would never trust a solo soraka to keep me alive and not starcall everything.

Streaming some now. Ustream Checker - LOLch

Not many play him but he is solid.

Im still mad they got rid of Gangplanks ability to shoot minions

Thanks for the tips.

Any tips on midding vs. Malzahar, Cassopea, and Anivia? Reasoning is my friends and I do a lot of in-house 5v5s and I’d like to be able to defeat them handily the next time we do an in house. I really don’t have that much EXP with Ezreal and the summoner spells, let alone midding vs Malz w/ a long-ass stun, or cass who has long range AE spells.

ALSO: Twisted Fate- I just bought him and want to learn him too. I rarely find any good guides on Mobafire and it seems like you guys just have more knowledge overall on the game, matchups, builds, etc. I want to play TF as AD, but from what I read you can play him as AP or Hybrid.

AD TF sucks now. Only good if your planning on BDing all the time. Ive seen both AP and hybrid work but he needs to be up in levels or else if he tries to gank any hero thats not a support will just blast him down while he only does maybe 40-50% to a squishy hero.

new patcher if fugly. wish they would change the launcher app itself so its not complete ass.

unless things have changed recently I haven’t seen a high level player play any TF other than pure AD in a long time, a couple month ago I’d sift through the top 25ish players and look at what builds they were using. Every TF ever was pure AD.

edit: I don’t actually PLAY TF so i have no clue what the right way is, that’s just what I saw.

AD TF is fine. Besides, AP TF is better at backdooring towers, anyway. TF isn’t really designed to 1v1 gank people. Good thing his ult is global and you can just turn jungle ganks into 3-man ganks with no warning. But there is a reason he solos, so he can get up in levels and get that stupid ult of his faster.

jiji plays TF a ton and he seems to play both about evenly and get similar results with each. I don’t really think hybrid works because hybrid builds get fucked by trying to itemize for Pen. It’s one of the reasons people don’t do hybrid builds over pure AD or pure AP for anyone except Kayle or Jax, who no one plays anyway.

i go pure ad tf. dont like doing no damage after combo in ap mode.

new patcher is gay. it took away all my custom skins.

Well A lot of the info is going to be the same just avoid their big power spell. With Anivia specifically however if you knew you were going to lane against her it might be in your benefit to start with boots and 3ish(w/e you think you can get away with) hp pots. Simply because you can be a lot more risky in aggression and not getting the risk of stun. She is fairly easy early not much threat really. Slow and as long as you avoid her stun should be able to out class her until 6. I almost always get FB on anivia early because after 6 its rape town for me lol. Save the tele for the kill blow or to avoid the wall if you can.

Cass, hmmm just win? She honestly can not stop you or out damage you as long as you are smart about avoiding her fairly predictable attempts at damage. She is also rather slow you might want to try the anivia build and start with boots and hp pots to help avoid those skill shots. Just make sure in all match ups you are being careful and placing your attacks in situations were the creeps won’t tip the battle in the enemy’s favor. There is no point in time that I see cass beating ezreal straight up just play smart.

Malz is a pretty dirty character and can push rather well. This map come off as odd but try to get him to hit you with the dot. If he is hitting you with the dot he isn’t getting creep kills. As far as kill opportunities again look early when he doesn’t have any CC or big damage and take advantage of the exhaust ignite summoner spell combo. Once he is 6 obviously you can not engage alone just get that in your head early and its easier to come to peace with. Have someone gank him if he is getting out of control and make sure you are getting creep kills in whenever you can in all match ups.

WATCH THE MINI MAP OFTEN!

Edit: as far as TF I only fear AD, but I am probably not qualified since I haven’t played him since the good old broken days.

why? he has other ways that make him a good pusher. the pool and the silence wall will push a wave without the dot. all your doing there is just getting worn down till he hits six and has an easier time killing you.
