Been seeing a shitload of games lately with no jungle and no support. Is that the new meta? which is basically the old meta because I remember that shit happening about a year ago.

As far as I know, no. I think people are salty that Sona and Soraka got nerfed when there is only four viable Support options right now. Even though Sona is fine after level 6 and Soraka is still decent, it’s end of the world.
Jungle beats me really.
I’d say there are at least 6 viable supports used somewhat regularly. Solo queue success might vary, but Sona, Soraka, Taric, Janna, Alistar, and Nunu all see decent use. Alistar is more often seen as a jungler now, and Taric is probably the rarest, but they still see enough successful use that I’d hesitate to call them not viable.
Leona and Blitz are widely considered to be at least theoretically viable, even if you aren’t likely to see them very often. Other than that there are things like support Nidalee and support Yorick which have been used from time to time successfully but seem to be pretty inconsistent.

People usually complain about Nunu support, lately people think he makes a better solo top or Jungle and Alistar’s I usually see just Jungle. I personally like him though. I sometimes run Blitz, but then again I don’t suck with skillshots.
We just need more Supports, I wish they would stop dangling the information in front of us and just release a couple this year. Lord knows we have enough AP and AD champs. When SRK gets together for some games I am usually stuck as Support and options are thin.
I just feel that Ashe exemplifies the meta of farming forever. I can win the lane as Ashe and go toe to toe with Caitlyn when I’m positive on CS and kills/assists and items, but barely win or trade kills. (Granted, she’s stronger earlier and falls off later, but with that sort of advantage…) Considering most normal games are beginning to learn towards a win or a loss at the 20 minute mark, whenever I play her I usually just get the early game and no late game. I also hate her passive. Small crit increases over time while Graves gets stacking armor/MR?
Jungling is just more fun. Jungle Ashe here I come.
Edit - Sleazoid’s avatar looks straight out of DFO.
This, pretty much, is spot on. I’m sure people will have fun experimenting builds and all and I totally understand that, but this is a team game. Losing because one guy decided to go experiment in pvp as opposed to doing it in a bot game or such is neither fun or fair to the other 4. It may not be your fault, but you are not min/maxing. Most people use the “psh, I don’t play to win I play for fun” but no matter what game I am playing that is usually the cop-out for ignorance and refusal to learn the game and try to maximize your level of play. The end goal of the game is to win. Why bother asking questions about characters? Why read guides? Why discuss optimal builds? Because you guys are trying to maximize things to WIN. The hypocrisy is ridiculous.
Also, no it is not enough to say dmg, and lots of it. 1.0 AP ratio on 1 aoe ability. OK if that’s the case then Cho’gath, Alistar, Blitzcrank, Malphite, Nunu, etc should be built strictly AP and be just as good, if not better, than AP Yi…yet they are tank/supports instead. You can argue about using the limited 2-3 champions excuse but I am not stating that, but hey I no sense in trying to stir that up. You pick a champ, you maximize their capabilities and play with a TEAM that tries to cover their weakness. Creating more weaknesses or not capitalizing on strengths is simply weird in a TEAM game.
Their moves don’t refresh on a kill or assist.
Edit - I’m not sure how anyone can contest Ahri’s mobility without contesting Kassadin’s as well. While hers is much more of a burst, Kass has no limit.
I give up, I’m just gonna make like this seal pup and chill.

To be fair practicing/testing against bots is about the least useful way to practice possible, the bots are AWFUL at the game.
edit:also this
He could potentially cast it several times a fight in rapid succession.

Yeah bots tend to dump two-three ults on me and double ignites, so not the best place to try anything other than how a build will function, implementing is different.
Dat Nautilus is really fun.
He’s like what Sejuani should have been.

I like Sej, but I do enjoy Nautilus better, his kit just meshes together really well. W is about the only thing that is kind of meh, since I dislike his swings taking forever and rooting him.
Not found an item set I like so far, been playing him like light Cho’Gath with AP and offtank items.
Heheh. I played a couple bot games when I was lagging horribly since I wanted win of the day IP but didn’t want to drag other people down. Having multiple bots blow their loads on you in rapid succession is pretty funny.
Korea League V-Day stuffs. Not sure where it came from.
Fuck…morgana baker skin on sale and I have the rp…fuck…

They need to put the intermediate bots in practice mode to see if I can 1 v 5 them, might be rough, maybe someone like TF/Noc/Pantheon to get from lane to lane quickly to keep 'em from jus tpushing everything down.
Thinking of selling my league account. Don’t have time for it anymore since I’m trying to focus on my art a lot more now. Might drop like $20 to get the rest of the champs, just need figgz, vik, voli and naut I believe. Have a good chunk of skins and black alistar. How much do you think I could get?

Pretty much yes. Completely agree. However, like most other peeps here I think practicing against bots is a horrible idea. It’s a great way to look at how a build will look/feel; however, it doesn’t stack up at all to a real match. On that note, I hate it when people join a public match with people that a) are completely new to the game or b) are testing out completely brand new, really “different from the norm” type of ideas since it’s such a crap-shoot to how it will perform. Also, I want to re-emphasize this:
I have a friend that plays all the SF games, all the Halo/CoD games, as well as LoL. He thinks I take this game too seriously and that he only “plays for fun and not to win”. Whenever he says that I want to punch him in the face for saying that.
On one last note: From what I see, AP Yi is somewhat viable. Not the most optimum of choices, especially for AP damage output champs but he can output some good to insane damage as well as take a helluva beating depending on the circumstances. However, that’s what this game is about is the specific situation we all come up with (I can’t think of a way to make that sound grammatically correct… :/). So with that, I think we can leave the Yi argument alone. I’m sorry if I’ve come off as an ignorant ass during this argument.

I still can’t get over the fact you guys are trying to seriously discuss AP Yi being viable or worthwhile.
Just because Meditate’s AP ratio is bugged doesn’t mean people should be going back to that troll build.
