There are plenty of new heroes that can dive on her ass with no problem. Permaslow won’t help peel them off, you have to depend on a support. She excels with good team synergy, which sucks when you’re trying to play her in solo queue.

Just about any carry will have to depend on a tank or a support to get a bruiser off of them at some point, and Ashe can kite well if she gets some help. Just because she needs good synergy doesn’t mean she’s bad, though it is frustrating.

I just misunderstood, my bad. That’s pretty much what I think about her too. The LoL community has gotten the idea that not being the best = worthless somehow, and it really bugs me. I’ve actually seen people say to play support Ashe so that she’ll be useful. Speaking of, I need to talk my brother into playing a support Ashe/carry Sona lane sometime.

They are basically always picked or banned by tournament teams, and it isn’t uncommon to see them across any ELO.

So, Cassio has a decently high skillcap, mostly just because her maximum damage is absolutely insane and it is pretty easy to miss optimal spell rotation, but I don’t see how Ahri is that hard to play, honestly. She doesn’t have any weaknesses. She’s Kassadin that can push. Sure, she has skillshots, but other than Charm it’s not like they are of the same level as most other skillshots. Her late game is slightly worse than someone like Kassadin, but that doesn’t really make her hard to play.

Her ult cooldown was like a minute with blue, for three free flashes that also did AoE damage. Does that honestly sound anything other than too good to you? Maybe I’m wrong, and it will turn out Ahri will be garbage tier because her ult cooldown got longer, but I seriously doubt it. She still has above average to great laning, scaling, mobility, and burst, along with a very powerful CC that isn’t really any more difficult to land than a Morgana binding (and Morgana is one of the easiest heroes in the game to play).

Whether or not you think Cassio/Ahri are hard champs to play, skillcap really shouldn’t be an excuse for making champions better than all the others. Orianna was considered a pretty hard champion to play, but all that meant was that you simply had to have someone that knew how to play her on your team to win, or blow a ban on her. Sure, if you had a champions with 4 single target skillshots with the same speed/hitbox as Blitz grab, you could probably afford to make the burst of those 4 skills pretty high. But that would simply be a poorly designed champion at that point.

People tend towards the path of least resistance, and the solo queue mentality only exacerbates that. Ashe is fine, and in general the carries are way better balanced than other team roles, but if there is one easy champion that tends to dominate obviously you are always going to prefer that that random person on your team you don’t trust plays them over someone like Ashe, who has serious issues in the laning phase and requires proper mechanics to really excel. Furthermore, she excels at utility tools, which require more coordination and proper play than just doing more damage.

Gave old somewhat meh Shen a last few games to send him off before I am greeted with something not pre SSFIV Dan-tier.

Revolver is getting another nerf? Didn’t see that in the notes, it’s one of my go-to items for offensive AP.

good points. I guess the nerfs are more towards her laning phase than anything else. she is pretty strong in lane. and pretty much ungankable.

10 CD seconds on her ult won’t hurt her as a whole. I just fear that Riot keeps this nerfing streak up. I already had one main AP champ shat on.

Oh, and as for Ashe I think she needs a bit of help. She’s not bad per se, but I’d say she needs something for her laning phase. The recent buffs were cool, but I think she needs a little bit more. Reworking her passive would be nice.

Here’s the thing that people still haven’t addressed: what can AP Yi contribute to the team? There’s a lot of ifs and buts like IF he can kill someone with an alpha strike then he can do it again and HOPE to kill another person to repeat. AD Yi you at least have something that can rush in there and kill or grab their attention. With CC, AD Yi can wreck face. With CC, AP Yi is still doing the same Q fishing. I’m not sure where you’re getting the whole MMO orientation but I never said tank = x. You can build anyone “tanky” but there are only a few can qualify as a tank due to abilities/disruption/synergy stuff that they can do. Amumu can build tanky and still be effective with his W and R. Alistar can build support and be tanky because of R, yet people still consider taking him out since his Q and W are short enough to be up after R’s duration. Rammus does not even need explanation. But if you build someone like Veigar tanky you are not building a tank, just a mage with tank gear and neutered damage. So if you are going to choose someone to be a tank, wouldn’t you want someone whom you can build tanky yet still have other things to contribute/play off their build? Don’t you want to maximize all the tricks/CC/support you have with your team?

You definitely want a mixture of AP and AD, not saying you need AP and AD carries. I hate games where everyone ends up building one path and the enemy team just builds against that, resulting in a tank that you cannot ignore because of disruption yet you cannot kill them fast enough to move on/kill the other teammates. I stress mid and late game phase because laning is mainly about farming/positioning. Can AP Yi harass? Sure. Can AP Yi remain in lane? Definitely. However there is nothing he can do against other people who can harass/sustain as well to force them to b. Worst case scenario the guy ends up farming under his turret. However after laning has ended it’s about group synergy in which case AP Yi has nothing. The only place that AP Yi belongs based on everything I am reading is solo bot dominion…that is all.

In regards to fun/trolling that’s a different game. When you troll people I find that building Sion with gank boots and 5 health crystals to be more rewarding than going with an AP Yi. As for fun, the goal of the game is to win. I find it more rewarding when you can build a team that works well together than saying “fuck yall” and building a solo champion. This is a team game, you might as well go and troll on SF or something rather than bring down 4 other people (not saying you will suck but you will not be maxing out your possibilities to win).

So fun is secondary to winning? Really, why the fuck is this topic still going on, you guys blew a normally casual and productive talk into something fucking stupid. You can stop now. We understand that most of you have a stick up your ass regarding meta, and that if I’m going to take this game seriously, I’ll play the same two-three champs per slot and bitch/stress over the game instead of enjoying a good time.

New champ is a big bruiser on Cho’Gath’s size level, tempted to pick him up if he’s decent and not complained about to where he’ll be nerfed into oblivion.

Winning is fun. Losing because some guy autolocked tank akali is not.

Nautilus is interesting, like the swiss army knife of tanks. I wish he wasn’t another AP offtank but his melee damage scales well at least. His ulti is rather lulz, I threw it at a retreating Nunu who was moving through his creeps to snuff it, it ended up killing all the creeps and him netting me a ton of gold.

Can anyone explain to me why when a Tank is released, they always have a spotlight showing them Jungle? It’s like Jungle and Stealth with that guy, just FAPFAPFAPPING away.
